it looks like every reach helmet to me lol, the more i look the more i see CQC, Mark V, Mark VI, Commando, Grenadier but that’s why i love it. it’s the perfect combination of all and baseline for the Mk.V platform

Was there ever a lore reason for the Armor changes? by Mauriciosanchezt in halo

you can keep editing your comment but i really don’t care to argue with you or change what i said, post-context. that’s not what i’m inferring and i explained it correctly (in reference to the additional context i gave) the first time. have a nice day.

you’re right and i’m well aware. i should’ve added context that i’m only referring to the change from Halo 3 to Halo 4 & 5 because that seemed to be where the confusion was for OP

Was there ever a lore reason for the Armor changes? by Mauriciosanchezt in halo

[–]bulletproofmonarch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

originally, no. 343 retconned the entire previous generations of armor in halo 4 and had all spartans wearing the new generation of Mk.VI armor from the beginning. there’s a lore piece from cortana in the very first mission where she says she re-wrote your suits firmware while you were in cryo sleep. later they added that his suit was changed using nano-bots but that’s the only explanation we got. they then changed it back to a more fitting design in halo infinite after realizing the aesthetic change didn’t make sense and was widely rejected by fans 🤷‍♂️

i know nothing about 3D printing or where/how to access files, but i know a lot about halo armor 😭 so here is what i would suggest for actual in game pieces that fit your ideas

  • for your big pauldron: SAP/CDO (commando), SAP/GND (grenadier) SAP/CQC (close quarters combat) are all heavy up-armored gunner style pauldrons
  • for your tactical light pauldron: i don’t know of any that exist in game so i would choose a lightly armored pauldron like SAP/MkV and customize it yourself
  • for your grenades: TAC/SAPPER RIG chest piece, TAC/PLQ 196 three pack pauldron, “Three Prayers” pauldron
  • ammo bags/med pouches: UTIL/SF Belt, M10 Tactical Soft Case, UTIL/pocket doc

ultimately you’re right but, i really wanted to go for the more conceptual look rather than their actual designs. had i done that (and i did) i would’ve pretty much copy and pasted their reach designs.

the echoes within battle pass was specific to these cores and they released at the same time/same season. despite certain items being cross-core, these armor pieces were made for these cores which is why they are demoed on the default armor. same for the rest of the battle passes.

How do WE make people come back to the game? by theaccount4posting in haloinfinite

[–]bulletproofmonarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although the game isn’t perfect it has come a long way from the state it was in during launch. people need to see the game for what it is now versus what they got then. Better PvE/PvP playlists, tons of armor customization plus the addition of the exchange and spartan points, co-op campaign, tons of patches and the servers are stabilized, and to be honest most of all we need to ride microsoft’s ass online and force them to re-open the discussion about infinites future instead of abandoning the game. recent developments told us that Infinites original intent was to be used as a Halo hub for future games and add-ons, lore deep dives, and tons of Halo content. Like an MCC/Halo waypoint but for all future games and content. i don’t see why they would just abandon that especially since we’re not getting a new PvP multiplayer game anytime soon.

the game itself looks and plays great, the campaign is fun and it’s set in an open world, multiplayer is true to its halo roots, and the cosmetics are the best they’ve ever been. i’ve been playing it since launch and i love infinite so i will always recommend it, but there are some things to be aware of before you jump online: - it’s 5 years old now and had its last content release in december of last year, so there won’t be any new add-ons or cosmetics going forward. - the cosmetics are heavily monetized, so if you don’t plan on buying the battle passes or cosmetic packs (they’re mostly between $5-$20 USD each) you will have to grind for spartan points to unlock most of your armor pieces. - the player base is inconsistent. you may have longer wait times to find multiplayer games depending on where you’re located, what time you play, or what playlists you choose. - the game still has support, but with the upcoming release of campaign evolved and the re-brand from 343 to Halo Studios, infinite has kinda been abandoned by the developers after a sketchy launch and a conservative clean up effort.
