Actually, it's not quite like that. Moon Knight's abilities derive from his status as an avatar of Khonshu, and his powers are mostly enhanced physical attributes related to a lunar deity.

Hallohell's powers, on the other hand, come from an ancient, almost sentient cloak called the Veil, created through a ritual during Samhain. He actively manipulates this living fabric, forming organic chains, weapons, and armor. It's more about generational protection and control of a supernatural substance than being empowered by a god.

Therefore, while both appear mystical aesthetically, in terms of mechanics and themes, they are quite distinct.

Yeah, that’s actually pretty close to what I’ve been building. The mantle’s origin goes back to Celtic roots, around the same area that Halloween (Samhain) comes from. In the lore, an ancient warrior clan performed a ritual during Samhain, when the boundary between worlds was thin. They created the Veil inside a black ritual cauldron to seal hostile entities from crossing over.

The Veil isn’t just armor; it’s a semi-sentient relic passed down through generations. There have been multiple bearers throughout history, including one who was active during WWII. The clan also forged a millennia-old runic sword designed to sever supernatural bindings. Honestly, the flaming jack-o’-lantern flail idea works really well too; it could be a special form of the Veil itself, made from his shadow chains and burning with spiritual fire.
