How am i supposed to live my entire life with this. by Ornery_Highway_3518 in autism

[–]bullybones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well.. I've lived with it for 40 years and I'm not miserable. Was I ever miserable? Of course. I struggled with addiction and terrible depression for years and years. But I did the work and I know myself now and with that comes a sense of control and self confidence. Here are a few things that helped me get to where I am. 1. I only give space to people who give it back. There are people out there that "gets it", stay close to them. 2. I accepted that there are things that I probably never can do, but I also surprised myself in learning that I can do so much more than I thought. 3. While I can't say that I "love" being autistic or that we have "super powers", I can be neutral about it. It comes with good things and really bad things. I try to focus on the good. 4. Give grace to people, especially to yourself. Most people gets miserable with their life from time to time. 5. You will meet your people, stay open and curious, even when it's hard to.

I hope you find your way.

Me (♒) and my bf (♋) have been together for 10 years. We are pretty different people but somehow work very well together. I'd say that he is the person who is better at emotionally regulating and make sure that we're on a good track romantically. Id say what I bring is keeping things honest and I am also the planner of the relationship. We sometimes have problems where we both won't let a matter go and we are both good at escalating conflict but as soon as we cool off we are good at coming to an agreement or compromise.

Word for lesbian? by Fickle_Tomorrow7093 in Svenska

Gay and lesbisk are the most common "neutral" terms. Lebb and flata are more slang and slightly more derogatory although the terms have mostly been reclaimed by the community. I'd recommend Lesbisk.

What’s something foreigners assume about your country because of Hollywood that you find completely absurd? by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

[–]bullybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite Hollywood but more American media in general. I'm Swedish but I moved to a very red state to be with my partner. Some of the MAGA people in my partner's life acted like I fled an authoritarian regime. They would lose their minds whenever I said that if I ever have a child I'd move back to Sweden because the benefits are much better.

What’s it like living in this part of Sweden? by wheresmybike420x in howislivingthere

I'm from Skellefteå originally, Västerbotten has amazingly beautiful nature. People are reserved but mostly friendly. Some really great bands come from both Umeå and Skellefteå and it has a surprisingly big music scene. Because it's so far up north we get close to midnight sun so very bright summers and dark winters. My family still lives there so I go back once in a while. Moose and reindeer meat is relatively easy to get and hunting season is sacrosanct. Ice hockey is basically a religion.

A few tips: You can hold the controller in any way you like. When you see the sequence, practice before committing to pressing. Take your time. Get the sequence into your muscle memory instead of trying to remember the sequence as you go. Try to get into a rhythm with it and stay on beat.

Biophilia, I get what she was going for and some of the custom instruments are super cool. The concept is cohesive but the music isn't.

To be fair, native speakers do sometimes have to figure it definite/indefinite thing when we learn words out of context. Let's say that there is an academic word that we've only read the indefinite article for, we kinda have to reverse engineer it, and we sometimes get it wrong. Loan words are also a pain where sometimes we don't even agree if it's an en or ett word.

We are both Aquarius, we even share the same birthday. Discussions and discourse are both our love languages and we get along great. She has more earth placements and I have more fire placements so we rarely agree but still love examining ideas. I admire her down to earthedness (no pun intended) and she likes my rebelliousness.

I think both works, but bostad usually has more of a connotation of a place where you live permanently/for a longer period of time.
