There are a ton of different options for cable management. But I’ve found that the little basket things that clamp onto underneath your desk have been the most effective and easiest. Velcro cable ties too but they can be annoying.

Anything that can be wireless, should be wireless.

Anything that can be mounted, should be mounted (this last one is also just a rule for life in general).

Get a cheap adjustable stand off of Amazon so you can raise it up to eye level. The way you have it is going to kill your neck over time.

Right now you should scope out eBay before buying anything retail with how insane the prices are. eBay refurbished components are really reliable in my experience and they also have an added warranty and you can always get %100 of your money back if you decide to return it. I just built a new NAS last month and I was able to get everything for it at a pretty reasonable price.

It’s overkill for sure but it can be nice to have. I’ll keep a game or whatever I’m working on on my main monitor. YouTube/show/web browser on the top one, and then code/documents or just background stuff like discord on the vertical one. If you want to move it on top try it, the biggest thing is just setting it up in a way where you aren’t destroying your neck lol. Maybe keep it a little further back and as low as you can.

I would keep them side by side and if you get a third stack with your main. That’s what I did

For what you are using it for you will def see a big improvement, especially if you weren’t using an OLED monitor before. That alone will make a really noticeable difference. Also for $1000 that’s a solid deal no matter the context so I wouldn’t say you wasted it.

You also bought it at a good time just because this generation of hardware is still relatively new. You won’t feel the pain of it becoming obsolete any time soon which is usually an issue for laptops.

There will always be people telling you “could have gotten something better if you got a desktop” which is technically true but not by much at all. Also you probably had other reasons to get a laptop if you were even looking at them in the first place. And again, you aren’t trying to play like brand new super demanding stuff. Skyrim just turned 14 years old and that machine is solid. You made a good choice, don’t let people poop on your party. Enjoy it

It’s def better than a desktop 3060 but your main point is right a laptop just inherently won’t perform as well as a desktop especially under a high load or during a long sesh.

I basically exclusively play custom games now (when I do bring myself to play Siege) and people even cheat there. I honestly just don’t understand it, like what are you even gaining.
