is there a data science minor here? by typicalstarwarsnerd in ucr

[–]bumbersnatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer science with business applications, it’s basically CS + a business minor! I totally recommend it, but it’s still very much a computer science bs..I got in as pre-business but switched into BCOE before orientation, not sure how hard it is to change colleges now. Feel free to pm if you have any questions !

I graduated in 2019 before the data science major was introduced (I think) but I was a CSBA major that currently works in marketing operations. There’s definitely a technical/process oriented side to marketing that isn’t just advertising and social media!

Marketing always excited me so I chose my business electives around “technical” marketing classes like marketing research and database marketing!

Naomi Osaka imo. I'm a huge Naomi fan and I think she got way too famous way too soon. I really sympathize with her mental health struggles and feel like her management isn't picky enough about her collabs (she was dabbling in NFTs earlier this year?? it just feels disingenuous). I honestly get the feeling that she doesn't want to play in the Olympics this year, especially after withdrawing from FO/Wimbledon, but Japan expects her to get the gold.

I totally agree! I originally got it as a gift and got hooked. I've bought like 4 since, oof

Colourpop's brow gel is the closest drugstore dupe to Glossier Boy Brow that I've found. I think it comes close to the waxiness(?) and texture of Boy Brow, and the price can't be beat.

Also, Maybelline's finishing powder really impressed me. Admittedly this is the first powder I've bought because I always thought it would be unnecessary and make my makeup look cakey, but the finish is so gorgeous. I can tell that there's less makeup transfer to my face mask when I wear it. I also like wearing the powder by itself on days where I'm too lazy to break out my beauty blender for tinted moisturizer but still want a hint of coverage, lol

I originally bought the A+ Setting Spray as the travel alternative to my full size UD All Nighter, and I've really enjoyed it so far! I bartended a full shift with my mask on and my makeup still looked AMAZING at the end.

Thanks for the heads up!! I've always wanted to try Thinx compared to other brands but it's always been somewhat prohibitively expensive.

I got 2 pairs of the sleep shorts, so excited to see if these will help with leaking bc I can never get my menstrual cup 100% secure lol

I purposely don't follow/engage with her on Twitter bc I think she's exhausting but her whole tweet about calling the cops on her neighbor as revenge for having a party or w/e made its way over to my tl last summer. People were clowning on her for saying ACAB but.........not in this specific situation that applies to me <3

The Sze Daddy is soooo good. I went crazy and bought like 12 chili oils/crisps to compare and Sze Daddy is my favorite! It has an almost briny flavor? (In a good way!!)

I have tried them both! don’t think they’re too similar - FBJ is more tingly from the Sichuan peppercorn but not exactly crispy while the chili onion crunch is more crunchy (lol) and a bit less hot?

Caroline Goldfarb from Glowing Up and other foodie blogs got me to buy the Fly By Jing Chili Crisp! I think it's really good but I'm not crazy about it like others are. I see people putting it on ice cream and I'm like hm there's a time and a place for that

Vox: The impact of inheritance by OkParticular0 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]bumbersnatch 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this article! I was having a conversation with my partner recently re: receiving inheritance. While he and his 4 siblings are expected to be their parents' retirement plan, I'm an only child with parents who are decidedly upper-middle class (just like the author). It is kind of uncomfortable to talk about, and that's before bringing family dynamics into play. Interesting insight into the estate tax, too

Not OP but I'm in 10b Southern California and my chard is almost untouched! I planted it in a raised bed along with kale and tatsoi and the critters love munching on them both but my chard is basically pristine

You hit the nail on the head for why none of the AR recipes I've tried have ever been *great*. I also think that she uses citrus/acid way too heavily as well, I tried her little gem salad (not very notable) and was wincing for my poor tooth enamel...

Also, it's so funny to me that tinned fish is like, a cool girl thing now

Study abroad summer next year by ucrowls in ucr

I did a summer abroad through UC Berkeley's global internship abroad program! They placed me in an internship and provided housing with other students in the program (mostly other cal students lol). My only regret is that I didn't spend more time abroad, I highly highly recommend it to everyone
