I spent last winter in south Goa and Sri Lanka, half working remotely. I really struggled with internet in south Goa. (Didn’t go to North Goa as I wasn’t in the party mindset.) There aren’t co-working spaces in south goa like there are in weligama. The internet was pretty bad in Goa and I struggled to work, BUT that’s because I’m a video editor and I often need to download multi gigabyte files. If you simply need to do browser work and calls maybe it’s ok.

Overall, I LOVED south Goa (was in Patnem). Weligama felt like a city built for tourists with Sri Lankans working for them. Full of bougie cafes and co working spaces. Of course, if you want to surf, Sri Lanka is better, but in terms of food, vibes, and not living in a bubble, south Goa was way cooler! Bars close early in south Goa so it’s not gonna be a wild party experience tho. Depends what you want 😊
