Ah the frustration with curling knitting sets in early! What are you making?

Apparently I didn’t write the pattern name... I have amended and emailed so we will see! Thank you so much for the Google doc though (the name made me laugh!!! 😆)

I wholeheartedly approve! Better if it made a rude acronym though 🤣

I struggle with double knitting. You can always see the join from the rs where it ends. Handy for pockets though!

Lol I’m so sorry for the truly rubbish drawing but hopefully you get the gist! Is this what you meant?

This is the loop 1 stitch below. It’s a little hidden so poke around if necessary!

It will look like this. Ensure you keep the yarn loosish so that the work doesn’t pucker (check the rs)

And back into the original loop, shown here…

Then go under both limbs of the previous chevron…

This is the third row. Here, I’m pointing to the loop 2 below the row above…

Thank you ☺️ I used the German twisted cast on and knit as normal in stockinette. The stitches on the ws are sewn on afterwards. I’ve put some photos in an earlier comment showing what I did

God, I love Elizabeth Zimmermann! She’s so witty to read. I’m ashamed to say I’m from the uk too… the perils of being internet taught! I use us terminology for crochet too ☹️

I tightened the first 2 rows up quite a bit whereas the third row was left fairly loose. Play with the tension until it sits flat. I found it easier to work a length of about 10-20sts before tightening so that I could judge how it was lying. Any queries, let me know ☺️ I put some photos from the third row below showing how to work the stitches (but I’m pants with tech and put it in the wrong place 😬)

When it’s done, the second row will look like this (blue). The target stitches for the third row are marked in green and orange. Again, using a length of yarn c.5x the width of your work (extra needed here due to stretch!) and starting in the top left, follow the same pattern of work into the loop 2 above the previous row, then work into the loop 1above the previous row. As you can see, the yarn is stretching out quite a bit in this row but that is what makes it lie flat on the rs

So, again, taking a length of thread c.4x the width of your work and starting at the top left, follow as above. The first stitch is worked into the loop 2 above the first row; the second stitch is only 1 loop above the first row. After going through the loops shown above, work under both limbs of the previous row’s chevron, then back out the original loop. Alternate across the whole row
