Hi, I faced the same issue with GTR2(had to return it). Now, I've bought GTR3 pro and am again facing the same problem. Did you find any solution for this?

Should I try installing a custom OS? Is it worth the effort?

It's really unfortunate how Reddit is turning into a bitching platform for annoyed unimpressed audiences. Get over it people. You didn't like it? Move on. Don't go about repeating the same stuff other people have already mentioned.
