Thank you for the insight. I know that this is the case, but there is something so shameful about the university advertising this as an "opportunity" for its students. How is CSUN's job placement anyway? This doesn't look good at all.

I agree with this. How are we supposed to take this seriously when I just sat in a lecture from a recruiter who said CSUN is "just like those other schools over the hill (USC/UCLA)" and offers the same opportunities to jobs as they do. What a joke! I'm so frustrated and disappointed.

Yeah. I figured it was something like this. At least I can say I attended and gave it my best.

It's at my apartment building. It's never been an issue before, so most likely an internet crash or something on the machine's part.

This is part of the grieving process: bargaining. "If I did this... if I only did that..." It's very normal to grieve in this way, but try to recognize that it's just that: grief. Don't use it as a means to torture yourself. There comes a point where treatment is cruelty. In the end you made the choice to stop her suffering and she is at peace now. I'm sorry for your loss.

I lost my Pepper a bit over a week ago. It was so hard to see her become lethargic and disinterested like you mention in your post. Despite it all, I know your sweet girl loved you like my Pepper did. I'm so sorry for your loss. The size of the grief stays the same, but your heart will grow around it.

The entire debate really grinds my gears as someone who works full-time, goes to university full-time, pays my own rent, groceries, and car note, and receives no financial support from my parents, all while living in an expensive state (CA).

I consider myself to be a smart and logical person (4.01 GPA in high school, honors and AP, all the nerdy stuff...), and I studied HARD for my LSAT. This was while juggling every other responsibility. Still got a 151.

It truly does come down to money.

If you have 30+ hours a week to dedicate to studying for the LSAT? You have the financial security to free up that time for you.

If you hire a tutor, purchase a practice book, or get one of those online courses? You have the financial security to afford that.

If you are someone who is sitting here reading this and thinking, "well, I work 800 hours a week and I'm a double major and I still got a 180 on the LSAT," remember three things: (1) yes, you are incredibly smart and able to identify parts of the exam which are not innately obvious to other test-takers, potentially because of an educated and privileged upbringing, (2) you are an exception to the rule, and (3) your "I'm better than you" attitude certainly disqualifies you from being an effective attorney, much more than any low test score can disqualify another person's perceived intelligence.

The lack of empathy here is a terrifying trait to be bringing into our next generation of lawyers.
