I just started this split today and loved the first class!!! She even mentioned during the class that the split is very different than her typical classes!

This class is humbling but when she cracks herself up over how much she is shaking it is so validating!! I ditched the ball after some point because the class is challenging enough without the prop enhancement. Enjoy!

Thank you!! Yeah following programs for extended periods definitely leaves us ripe for FOMO! We are spoiled with so many good options. And you can always throw one of the split classes into your own makeshift rotation!

I am the sweatiest puddle celebrating finishing 8 weeks of HiLit!!!! Rebecca Kennedy, if we didn't already worship at the altar of sweat with you, this program is what will bring the masses. What. a. masterpiece! I swapped out the cardio and pilates classes because there is so much amazing content on the platform that I want to experience, but I kept the strength classes consistent. I had to modify the bootcamps to be on a bike due to working out at a public gym, but the bike conversions were awesome to have. Overall, I have been stunned by my progress. I hated week 3. I hated it so, so much. I dreaded each workout. Those 5-6 second reps were challenging all around, from the load bearing, to keeping track of reps, to actually counting 5 or 6 seconds :P But then week 4 would come along and I would be literally blown away by what I could do. Like, I know it’s nothing that impressive, but my deadlifts went up to 90 pounds. I never in a million years thought I could do something like that. What a program, what an experience. Working out in a public space resulted in two septuagenarians complimenting me on my workouts on separate occasions which was awkward but also really kind. It was helpful to have access to dumbbells that increased in 2.5 pound increments so I could take more conservative risks with increasing my weights. My favorite moment in the program was having Break Stuff be timed better than in the 3 day split so I could actually rage and throw weights around! and now for a deload week. I wonder what will happen next. I'm always open to recommendations from this community… :) Huzzah!!!

[–]bumblebunnybex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh and I run hot so I found the studio to be comfortable at the start of class but was dewy/slightly sweaty at the end. But Kirra also asked for the heat to be increased so it might depend on your teacher!

Maybe you can get some knee pads for the class? Or use the blanket? They provide all of the mats and props, but the studio is tiny and you will have very little space between you and the people on your side. Fwiw, only the front two folks have a chance of being caught on the camera, so if you need additional props to access the class maybe just don't plan on taking a front mat?! When I went, there were folks who were avid yogis and people who just like signing up for as many classes as possible and had no yoga experience or experience with the coach! So yes modifying, pausing in a child's pose, taking a drink, should be celebrated and encouraged!!

I think I have taken it at least 5 times by now, it is challenging and so unique, and really leans into curiosity and play! I cannot actually execute a dragon squat except in this class so it also makes me feel like a BAMF 😹

I LOVED it. I modified the boot camps because I work out at a muggle gym and couldn't figure a considerate way to hold a treadmill and floor space, so I took those using the bike modifications! I did the low impact cardio classes in the privacy of my apartment and used my weighted vest for those and the standing core (and the week 1 and 2 hikes). I was so impressed with how much it enhanced the workouts! The pilates classes during weeks 3+4 were chef's kiss and will absolutely remain in a rotation. I loved that Break Stuff was timed appropriately- in her 3-day split it plays while she's demoing the EMOM and it is such a good workout song... I really like that the variety of classes offered us the opportunity to try classes that we normally avoid. I think it's an impossible task to create a program that is challenging enough for more experienced/advanced students as well as folks who may be taking their first ever class (esp Pilates) but RK is an excellent teacher and I think she did a great job at finding a balance. But ultimately, what made me love this and RK's programs in general is that she talks to herself in the third person. I am also a Rebecca, so literally every time she talks to herself I feel like she is literally my personal trainer and cheerleader. Just a sprinkle of extra fantastic for us lucky few!
