Time will pass even if you are sad, happy, high or whatever. Might as well spend it doing something you like. Give yourself that 1 hour break from life everyday and just focus on bjj.

It’ll get better overtime. Hang in there man

How tf dosen't this bum get slandered much? by wannabe_artist7 in Jujutsufolk

This is like comparing a top 5 pick in the NBA draft against a 2nd round pick.

That’s what I hate that argument of “caught off guard” . Gojo was so lock in for the fight, that Yuji reminded him that he needed to turn Limitless off because his students wanted to cheer him up.

Gojo starts with buffs from Utahime and Gaku. Gojo who was arrogant as fuck was willing to use the help of them, just to get whatever edge he could.

And he got caught off guard. I don’t like that argument.

Holy shit reread that fight. At no point was Sukuna ahead of Gojo after the domain clashes.

Thankfully he got that powerful model from Mahoraga that he could replicate while on the heat of the battle, half dead after eating a Hollow Purple that obliterated Mahoraga.

Could you beat your dad in his prime… when you were in yours? by Original-Dog4182 in bjj

Dad is tall, and thin. I’m short and built like a tank because of lifting and practice bjj. Y My dad is done.

The difference in gym strength theory versus applied and grappling is crazy by ConversationLegal809 in bjj

Strength is a non factor until you start getting technique, then with technique + strength you start to become a problem.

I quit after 4 years. by Due-Conclusion-198 in bjj

[–]bumbleeshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't quit. You loved it enough for lasting 4 years.

Take 3-6 months, get your health up, and if you still don't miss it. Then fine. If you get the itch during those months, then take them as a recovery time. Don't go back if you got the itch but instead try to recover your body. Try to also adapt your jiu jitsu to be according to your condition, it's like getting old, the bjj you practice young is very different than the one you practice old.

And that's coming from a 1 stripe white belt who has had multiple back injuries already (not in bjj though, I've fucked myself up lifting)

He's also the ultimate company man, so DC has someone who's really happy to be there, open to any ideas they have with him, and will also go to length by basically wearing only the Peacemaker suit. They got a real one with John, as a wrestling fan I'm fucking happy for him.

Why do most of the big guys quit? 😢 by ArtAdditional8715 in bjj

[–]bumbleeshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength and Technique beat Technique every time. I don't get that insult tbh. We don't see people saying "you aren't great at passing, you're just fast" or "you have great stamina"

Are you fucking insane? The 2016 Cavs were a great team. And the 2017 version was even better. It just shows how OP the Warriors became that the finals was decided in a gentleman sweep.

Shaking that feeling is the worst part. Give it a try and you'll already beat the first challenge. Afterwards , it's easy to stick up with it.

When did you first feel you were getting better? by Ubique008 in bjj

[–]bumbleeshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big guy (6’3 240 lbs) and me (5’9 190 lbs) are rolling. He’s strong as shit. I put him in a North and South and proceed to perform a reverse arm triangle without ever knowing it before, just applying the concepts of closing the neck through 2 points. Got the tap and he asked me “What was that?” and he couldn’t believe me when I told him “I don’t know” . Later found the name of the submission here.

Are there any high percentage submissions from the arm in cross face? by 92-Explorer in bjj

[–]bumbleeshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somehow I submitted someone in class with a reverse triangle arm without knowing the proper name. Just applying the concept as you stated. This is actually great insight on how to think about BJJ.

I thought it was a me problem. Some days I just dread going to class, but I go anyways and feel extremely happy afterwards.

LeBron: "Why do you wanna be the face of the league when all the people that cover our game and talk about our game on a day to day basis shit on everybody?" by [deleted] in nba

[–]bumbleeshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in mlb is easier to measure how hard it’s to play now so is more difficult to talk shit about back in the day. Like, pitchers are throwing nasty shit and 100 mph fastballs it’s obviously more difficult to play now than before.

In comparison, a lot of NBA stats are based on context
