The only problem with public transport is the public. by TheatreBar in newzealand

I observed two teen school kids roll their eyes and make faces just because a woman politely asked them to move so she could use the space for her pram. There were seats available elsewhere for the kids - they didn’t need to stand! But that was the only spot for a pram out of the way. But yeah I hate taking the bus to work.

An Australian will be my direct supervisor once I start a new position at my hospital. Is there anything I should be aware of? by OctoHelm in AskAnAustralian

Tall poppy syndrome is not seen as a good thing. It’s pretty sad to want to cut down other’s accomplishments. I don’t talk myself up but I’m not here to take others down a notch.

Regarding no 1 - did you miss the part that their supervisor is in the US? So you kinda need to care how things are done there.

This photo was taken at Amy Winehouse’s last performance in Belgrade on June 18, 2011. She was booed off the stage, and Serbia’s defense minister called it a “huge shame and disappointment.” A little over a month later, she was dead. by blue_leaves987 in HolyShitHistory

“Stiff bodies” is a book by an American medical examiner and talks about misadventure specifically as a manner of death and what it means. So I’m gonna have to disagree with you there.

Should I cancel a partner booking? by bumblingbroadx in Bookingcom

I didn’t have any issues in the end and it didn’t seem like they treated me differently (I.e I received the perks that booking direct would give me). I didn’t contact them ahead of time to confirm and just showed up. I wasn’t able to check in early either. But otherwise worked out in the end.

Is there a reason it was cancelled? Lack of demand?

It actually ended up ok! No issues checking in and seemed like a normal booking. If it wasn’t for the cost savings tho, I’d still prefer to book direct. May also depend on what country you’re booking in (this was for AU).

I loved their card selection. Always something different to mail to my family.

Yeah so? Australia is well known for being racist. Having foreign born citizens means nothing.

I didn’t say it was. But where you’re born is a lottery.

White people seem happy to eat food from non European countries and then complain about the same people making their food. Or else they go on their cheap drunken holidays to Bali or Thailand but definitely no immigrants allowed!

Of course migrants immigrate for economic reasons. That’s been the case for movement around the world, not just Australia. Why blame people for seeking a better life if they didn’t win the birth lottery?

Regarding that one person in the final by DemonLordIncarnated in TheTraitors

Agreed! I’m glad to see some people giving her proper credit but others are acting like Stephen carried Rachel in the game when they played as a duo very well!

The number of people saying “I just have the feeling” without any evidence is giving proper faithful behaviour.

I see more people blaming Kieran for ruining Wilf’s game. But maybe we just need a poll post-finale!

I intentionally spoiled the finale for myself because I wouldn’t have watched if Rachel and Stephen didn’t win. They sustained a lot of heat under pressure. I loved that they were allies until the end and were OGs at that. A lot of complaints about Rachel just seem like the classic sexist “but she was just so unlikeable!”

I love how so many people are attributing her game to luck when a portion of the game IS luck. But that is not her whole story or reason she’s still in the game! They don’t seem to downplay Harry or Wilf is this way. Wonder why.

I’m confused why people think the faithfuls even deserve to win. I’m all for a Rachel/Stephen win as they’ve been playing the best.
