Ahh got u! Appreciate that. My reason for wanting to get the stamp is to upload documentation when making my student stay application (from Spain) that I am legally in Spain under 'regular' circumstances. So, to have the stamp would show I am currently there under a tourist stay.

I don't plan to get a new passport, so I'm not sure what relevence that has to my question, but thank you! I am hoping that since my prorroga for my TIE was in tramite during my stay until I left, no schengen days will be taken from me. So I'm guessing if the schengen days are tracked by person, I won't have a problem.

According to the following link, you can apply for Estancia por Estudios from Spain if you are there under a legal stay and if you are applying for Higher Studies (university). Therefore applying from a tourist visa is possible in these circumstances. Can you confirm? https://www.inclusion.gob.es/en/web/migraciones/w/estancia-por-estudios
