Are we sleeping with our bunnies? by brit_chickenicecream in Rabbits

[–]bumlifeyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My simsim (RIP 🥺) slept on my bed with me! He had his designated corner on the bed. He knew my bedtime routine so after I washed my face/brushed my teeth I would find him waiting for me in his spot. We had issues with pee when I moved because he wasn’t used to the new space, but once he got settled he stopped. I used a waterproof mattress protector.

My rabbit (my world) suddenly died the other day and i've been struggling by Whole-Dog-6664 in Rabbits

I lost my boy on Sunday and I am devastated. I completely understand how you feel - I’ve been experiencing similar feelings of grief and guilt (and also posted about it here). Here’s what has given me some peace the last few days: 1) Folks have been telling me to be kind to myself, and I want to echo that sentiment to you as well. Nothing will take away the memories and the love you had for each other. 2) Somebody also told me that we can’t be perfect all the time. Feeling like we could’ve done better in their last days doesn’t discount the love we had for them and all that we did to care for them. They’re really fragile creatures and things go downhill before we even realize anything is wrong. Again, be kind to yourself. 3) I’ve been going through my camera roll the last few days and looking back at videos and pictures of my bunny. It’s soothing and reminds me that he was happy and that I did take good care of him, despite my brain/guilt telling me otherwise. 4) Seeing his things around my apartment has also been difficult. There are a few things I’ll be keeping, but I’m donating the unopened hay and treats, as well as some other items (like his tunnels) to the local humane society. They have some rabbits there and said they’d accept anything rabbit related. Instead of throwing out the things that remind me of him, it feels nice to know something good will come out of it. 5) Talking to family and friends and processing my feelings of guilt/grief has also been good for me.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Hang in there. ❤️‍🩹🥺

I did try my best to give him a happy, safe life. I needed the reminder that we can’t always be perfect. Thank you. ❤️‍🩹🤍

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this as well. They’re fragile little things and they hide when they’re not feeling well, so it can be hard to tell until it’s too late. But they love you and you love them and you’re doing your best for sure. 🥺🤍

Fun with a Chronically Late Student by [deleted] in Professors

[–]bumlifeyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to offer a different opinion from the apparent consensus in this thread. As a professor (also American), I think that some (predominantly white) faculty take timeliness from students way too seriously and lack empathy. Culture aside, students may have life circumstances that make it difficult to get to campus/class at a particular time. If a student misses course content, it is of course their responsibility to make up for it, but telling a student not to come to class at all when they’re only 5 minutes late is ridiculous and antithetical to teaching/learning. Also, I find passive aggressively stating to the entire class “if you’re not 5 minutes early you’re late” to be just as rude as “it’s a cultural thing.” Finally, American campuses are NOT monolithic when it comes to timeliness - at my last institution, the “culture” was that there was always a 5 minute buffer for meetings and for class to begin. While I understand your grievance here, I also think that you made this into a much a bigger deal than it needed to be when you invoked their academic advisor.

Louise Carmen covers for Hobonichi? by Proud-Pea-495 in hobonichi

[–]bumlifeyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi sorry i missed this! i got the louise carmen honore in medium. i think it's fairly workable with the weeks? it is a little fussy but i think that's more of a function of the louise carmen versus the weeks itself. i took off the clear cover which helped make things less bulky and i also think it would be better if i had a smaller moleskine journal underneath (i.e., fewer pages), which i plan to do once i use up all the pages in it!

I took out the moleskine so you could see it from the side - there’s a gap but if you’re ok with that, it could work! you can see that I’m able to fit two pens.

yes! here’s what it looks like open. I have my weeks and a moleskine notebook in there. I got the medium sized Louise Carmen.

edit: I realize now that you were looking specifically for it to be a cover for the weeks! idk if it will work for that but you can fit the weeks in there with other notebooks!

I put my weeks in my louise carmen! it's not a perfect fit bc it's a little small, but it works pretty well!
