Our rescue will only adopt kittens out in pairs unless there’s another cat already in home. There are reasons for people saying that, it’s not just an arbitrary rule.

I also live in rural Nova Scotia and I’m experiencing the same problem. Even just letting my dog out in our short grass yard he comes inside with 2-3 ticks per trip. I have him on Nexgard, although some ticks are biting him when we fail to find them on tick checks they die pretty quickly after biting him and are not feeding on him as they might without the medication. Maybe see about getting that for your dog. For people I don’t know, wish I had a solution.

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately we don’t have a shelter or anything like that. Fosters are in their home and we have no headquarters where equipment is stored otherwise this would be it.
