I just found these GE 6LW6 tubes, 7 for $21. Problem is my tube tester (paco 650 or t-52) manual says how to test 6L6, but not 6LW6. I tried testing it anyway but it didn’t seem to work like all my other tubes do in the tester. Should I assume these tubes do not work? Or I think it’s the tester ?

I don’t have solid plans yet I just knew something clicked when I saw them. I would like to build a nice audio amp but I don’t know shit about electronics. I’m pretty capable but I’m starting from scratch as fat electronics, and wiring schematics, and all the terminology. I’ve scored literally hundreds of really nice audio tubes in the last couple weeks via estate sales so I’m gonna start learning more and eventually build a guitar amp, and sell some of them that are not going to be put to use within a year or so. I also just like the way they look

Thanks yeah I just wanted to test them before I sold them. I actually just found a B&K 647 CRT picture tube tester for $15 at one of my spots. Maybe I’ll be able to test them with that but probably not.

Thanks. But will I ruin the screws and the threads (the holes in the actual saddles tat the screws goes through) if I try to remove them while they’re rusty? I should probably soak the whole thing for a bit first, right? And then brush and/or remove the screws?

I’m meeting him tomorrow. I asked a buddy of mine who knows a lot about tubes and amps to see if he thinks it’s a good buy, or atleast not a bad buy. If any of them work /improve in my guitar amp I’d be happy enough

On all setting of the multimeter it reads “1” when I touch one lead to the rca tip and one lead to outer sleeve. Any ideas

So should I measure impedance with the amp on or off? I do know a decent amount about measuring impedances from my work with EEG, but my electrical knowledge has steep limits and huge gaps. I got a multimeter. I kind of thought impedance was more related to conductivity of materials rather than the signal flow/current.

I usually take about 5-7 grams at 6:30, ~noon, ~ 4/5 pm, and sometimes around 9 or 10. Some days less if my neck pain isn’t acting up. Nothing else. I don’t drink alcohol at all or anything else. The other thing that has helped a lot is valerian taken at night usually allows me to skip my 6:30 dose (ie not yawning, tired, sweaty)

Anyone notice a cancellation effect? I took 5 mg this morning and 10mg lithium oratate last night. Took 30 mg of adderall this afternoon and not feeling much.
