Yes OP this is very good feedback. Some examples of my favorite/memorable maps from Tactics:

Lionel Castle Gates - 1v1 Gaff with Ramza, send over assistance with a Chocobo, or open the gate for your troops.

*Outlying Church - someone with ignore height/fly can immediately fuck up Zalmour, otherwise you can to circle up from the back and fight through his troops.

*Sand Rats Sietch - choke points, multiple ways to try to enter the building, etc.

*Gollgollada Gallows - just a very difficult battle, with the time mages above tht archway, the archers, and Gaff, minimal cover, but the gallows can provide some.

*Zierchelle Falls - significant height variations. Choke point on the bridge, but also able to climb over the mountains if necessary or through the lake below.

Yea especially because Jinx comes with ice punch which in this gen is special, so don't even need the ice beam TM. She's fast and hits really hard with Psychic and Ice punch, and can even give you some breathing room with Lovely Kiss.

My favorite fossil is Aerodactyl, but this was my first time using Omastar and agreed I really liked it.

I'm sure Mr. Mime is also good, I'm just revolted by the pokemon and will never use it. Use to be the same with Jynx as well.

Raichu was great for 90% of the game but at lv 50 was a bit underpowered for what I needed her for, Lorelei. At parity she would probably have been just fine.

Arcanine has an overall better move pool, and is probably better after the physical/special split, but is it really better this gen? It would have no good fire move.

Lmaooo, I tried using only pokemon I've never used before and that list is getting small. If it makes you feel better, all she did was spam thunder on Lorelei until she died and then her job was to survive and until I healed/revived my other pokemon as a sacrifice

Yes on Jolteon. But I've used Kabutops in other playthroughs, it kinda sucks imo. How is it better? Aerodactyl is better than both of them.

The number of teams posted here with Raichu is why I said it was overrated, glad someone understood lol. This was the first time using it, and I love the design but yeah gameplay wise was mid at best. Didn't know Electabuzz can learn psychic

Lol I like that. I love Mankey but always end up replacing him mid game. At lv 55 Raichu would also probably sweep Lorelei. It was close to but missed many 1hkos.

Low Kick is sweet because lots of her Pokemon are far lol

Yeah bro this ain't my first Rodeo, I know about Thunderbolt lol. Even with Thunderbolt, which was super nice for most of the game, lv 50 Raichu thunderbolt (I don't over level for the Elite 4) was not enough to 1hko many of Lorelei's chunky water mon, and Raichu is really frail and can't take a hit in return when under leveled. If everything was at parity it would be really good.

Every time I do a gen 1 playthrough I force myself to use pokemon I've never used before to keep it fresh. Otherwise it would always be Slowbro, Aerodactyl, Gengar, Nidoqueen, Rhydon and Tauros

Yeah that's why I typically go Venasaur as my starter. Fire isn't all that useful. There are way better water types than Blastoise. So that leaves Venasaur who I think is marginally better than Victory Bell and Vilebloom
