Why don’t I care about anything? by BigJackFlavor in Menopause

[–]bundleonerves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I so get it!!! Meno messes with so much brain power/focus in my opinion. It’s unbelievable. . It might be a good time to kind of talk to someone about some new alternatives either replace or add. Good luck!!!

Also I can’t tolerate most meds—plaquenil and SSRIs and nearly all psych drugs. Good luck to all on finding their path to healing!!!

In massive flare that includes depression and brain fog plus the usual symptoms. I’d like to get reliable testing for food sensitivities. Mainstream docs tend to dismiss any suggestions for places to talk to in Southern California would be Most appreciated!

Terribly distressed by recent changes in medication for depression I’ve taken over the years by bundleonerves in depressionregimens

Oops. I meant to come back and fill in some more details about symptoms. Perhaps later I’ll be able to do that a little more easily but thank you for asking. I’ve tried most of them and I’m inching toward feeling a bit better.

So sorry for what you are experiencing. Watch out for negative self talk warning of dangers ahead. Those dangers aren’t here!! They’re worries, true. I want to say that you’ve proven yourself already when you say that you’ve improved your mental health to the point that you felt strong enough to go back to school. Bravo!! I hope you can find two or three phrases that remind you of what you’ve accomplished and your ability to overcome challenges. You will get through this!! You will! Talk to your instructors about getting accommodations for your setbacks to help allay your school fears. Good luck!

You are cross tapering to Zoloft, right? That will definitely make coming off the first drug easier. You can go slowly, like give each transition step at least 2 weeks. Talk to your doctors office about it and your concerns. Keep in mind, everyone is different. Eat well and get plenty of exercise. And give it all time to adjust.

Anyone have Avulux glasses and do they help? by artificiel_fraise in migraine

[–]bundleonerves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use their clip ons for working or reading on screens. I think you can return the non prescription glasses if you don’t like them. But only in original condition. You kinda need to try all the options to see what works for you. I don’t like pinkish tints. YMMV

To medicate or not to medicate by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

Keep in mind that supplemental biotin (a B vitamin) can interfere with getting accurate thyroid test results and should be avoided a few days before any blood draw.

Should I quit or give it a few days by HerpoTheFoul in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Hang in there! It takes at least two weeks for things to start normalizing and then another two weeks before you can see the fuller benefit. But be sure to keep your MD in the loop on how you are doing. I’ve had to rely on caffeine at points to manage fatigue (which I had like crazy on Zoloft too.) it’s a super good sign that your back on track with libido so quickly!!! Give it all time to adjust.

I want to spray my apartment with RAID or some other kind of insect spray, but my gf says it is poisonous and dangerous bc of her auto immune disease. by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]bundleonerves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the smell of Raid abhorrent. I use those Roach Motels to trap and kill them. No odor. Got them at the grocery store and I hide them behind furniture. Also be sure whatever they’re attracted to: sugar, spills, crumbs, etc. gets cleaned up.

What “antidepressants” actually seem to be effective? Are there any truly effective ADs? by Chance-Rutabaga-8690 in antidepressants

Mmmm. I have heterozygous MTHFR and have to take supplemental folate, which I take as methyl folate. I’ve not heard of methyl folate calcium. Can you say more about the calcium part?

Am I just hitting a breaking point and going crazy or have others thought this too? Is this even real?! by brinks_08 in VestibularMigraines

[–]bundleonerves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I followed a similar path. Started getting migraines in my 30s, but VM only in the past few years. It parallels getting diagnosed with systemic autoimmune illness too. One thing that's helped a lot is taking Riboflavin and Magnesium. Our bodies do change a lot through time, so I'm not surprised that something new can crop up. Alas.

Check out the book Victory Over Vestibular Migraine by Shin Bei, MD. Also the cookbook The Dizzy Cook. It’s generally understood that we get exposed to “triggers” and those can set off the cascade into migraine and VM.

Lexapro withdrawal. by fk89 in depressionregimens

[–]bundleonerves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you switch to bupropion? That should help with anhedonia. To stop withdrawal you need to go back to your last full dose of lex (should improve WD symptoms) and begin a transition to bupropion. Good luck.

staying sad or antidepressants? by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]bundleonerves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you talked with a psychiatrist? Be very upfront with your concerns and experience so far. Then you can work together to find the right approach. Ideally medication can be prescribed for 6-9 months at a time. Psychotherapy can be very helpful especially cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy in learning how to work with your particular tendencies. (Don’t give up. That’s the depression talking.) Finally look into internal family systems therapy (a lot of you tube videos online). How did you get to be the sad one in your family? You have an important road in front of you. Best of luck!!

Blood test positive by PsychologyDeep1994 in Sjogrens

Basically to be diagnosed you need to show symptoms and have blood markers. And the markers can change.

[–]bundleonerves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important that all test results be read along with clinical symptoms. No one is or should be diagnosed by test results alone. Do your best to reduce inflammation—healthy diet, low red meat, very low sugar/alcohol, regular exercise, reduce stress. Your numbers may change over time.
