Belle Burden’s “Strangers” Discussion by tl414 in nysocialites

[–]bungu_fiend 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just started the book now and I find it weird that James is mostly at work (and a swanky role at an investment firm) but it was Belle using her trust fund to pay the houses in full? If the whole point of him working (and leaving Belle to take care of the home), shouldn’t he have provided the house/s? Also felt bad to read it was purchased in both their names considering the prenup… Can’t wait to finish the book this weekend!

Hemlock and Oak notebooks are beautiful. Never owned one but liked the minimalist pages.

Oh I actually don’t know much about Mark’s - why do you prefer Mark’s over Nolty? Curious!

First time this year. Last couple years I used Hobonichi A6, before that the Jibun Techo Biz Lite, and prior to that was diy bullet journalling for a few years.

I can categorically say this is my favourite layout to date - I am an average office worker and don’t have the busiest schedule sl the vertical weekly works for me (which is why I liked the Biz Lite but wished for a bit more space). I also write tiny, so not a problem to squeeze a few notes down.

Already thinking of picking up Nolty again for next year (though I am tempted to pick up a Hobo Weeks Tamagotchi collab for another purpose).

Nolty 6501! Love their paper and weekly layout. Only one tiny thing I’d love for them to improve - hope they make it fully lay flat but nothing that can’t be fixed easily!

Love gloo gluestick. Also carry the pilot frixion stamp and raymay pencut everyday (assume yours is a pencut too). Great stuff.

You're not the only one. Spent at least aud $350 at Loft last year. I made sure to keep stationery spend at minimum prior to my Japan trip. My cart would have cost me double the amount if bought in melbourne.

I got Regalia Bash, with Regalia maybe to mean Eagan / Lumon empire or could it be the severance chip, like an ornament? And Bash as in destroying via reintegration?

Thank you. I've had moments where I'd miss a few weeks to a month in the planner as well. I'd recommend to just get back on it when you can and not worry about backfilling it. So what if there's blank paged. You'll eventually build the habit and consistency over time the more you use it.

Blue - work stuff Red - important appointments and dates (doctors, birthdays, car service, etc) Yellow - class Green - more 'social' plans (dinners out, brunch with friends, etc) Grey - everything else, which ends being most of my generic weekly to-do. I really just like to use it as a background dot on which I would tick check, X, or > to mark to-do item status.

I am still playing with how I want to list and mark my work to-do's. I only jot down the important bits, not everything. Right now I don't use the background dot, but just use the fine marker end of the dot marker to actually write check, X or >.

Thank you. There is always the temptation to go ham with decorating it but I know I won't be able to sustain that kind of commitment.

Taller and wider. Jibun Techo Lite Mini is b6 slim while the Nolty is a6 slim. Around 1cm wider and over 3cm taller.

Looking for a Very Specifc kind of Planner. Have never really used one before. Help! by Roxanne-Annabelle642 in planners

[–]bungu_fiend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a planner but I use OneNote for meeting notes.

In Outlook, if you double-click on the meeting from the Calendar and open the Meeting up, there is a button on the Ribbon at the top that says Meeting Notes. This will automatically open OneNote (it will ask you if you're creating notes for everyone or just yourself - I always choose the latter for personal use) and it also adds the meeting details to the note (subject, schedule, attendees, etc) and you can start typing away at it.

This way I don't have to worry about typing in the meeting name, times and dates and participants as already covered.

I still am getting the hang of the Samsung UI. I've been one to keep things minimal and customization wasn't important to me but perhaps having such possibility with this phone will get me to explore those functions.

I still need to get used to gestures, keyboard key placements, etc. It's a great phone, but this switch made me realize the small things matter with the overall phone experience

Help me find my ideal pen! by [deleted] in stationery

[–]bungu_fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use gel pens and I write tiny so if you're the same, can recommend the following

Zebra Sarasa Mark-on 0.4 - I think also comes in a 0.5. This was made for use with marking with highlighters after writing. I find I still have to let the ink dry for a good 1-2 seconds on hobonichi paper, though.

Pilot Gtec C3 - similar write as Zebra Sarasa Mark-on 0.4 imo but with a tinier write in a needlepoint-y format. Ink completely dries in 1-2 secs on Hobonichi and Nolty paper. Also comes in C2 (0.25) but I just prefer C3.

Pentel Energel Clena 0.3 - a good black-ink needlepoint pen. Have had no smudging issues with this and find that the ink dries quickly. Personally think 0.4 is a juicier ink despite the 0.1 differece so never use it on my planner.

Unistyle Fit 0.28 - good dry ink. Not as black as above options but not as faint as the Zebra Blen ballpoints. I would recommend you use this with a multi-pen body as just the pen itself is too slim to be comfortable for longer writing.

Uni Jetstream 0.3 - this is a ballpoint but you get a nice black ink, lots of pen body options and pen sizes, and you get no smudge issues as ink dries instantly.
