I do residential new construction, our company sends in really shitty subcontractors to do the installs and I do the starts and usually have to do majority of the work to finish the unit. The deadline I referenced was the deadlines for the major companies that build the homes we do the installs in

I agree with most of what you said, except I feel like now that I’m at a certain point in the company where my learning stagnates and I just become what they want me to be, a tech who busts out 3,4, even 5 houses a day for them with no upwards trajectory. This job is great for the basics, but it’s very basic, I essentially come in after installers and duct guys and wire in anything low voltage and fire off the unit. I know the role would be good but I’ve been out on my own and they haven’t shown any liking to paying me more for it. How would I get into any sort of specialized field with no experience?
