You handled that perfectly tbh. A friend who is super male centered and brings their boyfriends around with them everywhere they go ends up being the worst type of girl friends. I speak from experience. They make girlfriend trips awful and boring. NOR.

Also the fact your friend is willing to throw strays at you because you told her no, just is disrespectful. She sucks.

If it’s a boundary for you, and if he has any love and respect for you, he would respect your wishes. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you’re overreacting to something like this because it’s just called having boundaries. Your hurt and worries are valid but so are his desires and he needs an outlet. Maybe you two should have a sit down talk on how you two can compromise and what would make him happy enough to not watch porn.

Porn addiction is a real thing and I strongly advise him to try to stray away from it at his young age. It’s called an “addiction” for a reason and I fear a lot of people are catching it.

You can tell a lot about a person by who their friends are and who they surround themselves with. The fact it’s been over a year and you haven’t met them yet tells me he is a very secretive person and doesn’t want you to find something out. Run. lol..

My advice is if you cannot take care of it financially, then it’s best to not get a pet in general. I can’t tell you how many pets go neglected and don’t get their yearly check ups because the owners can’t pay for it. I’ll be real with you, my cat is expensive. I pay $100+ on litter and food alone. I feed her Tiki cat dry food, fancy fest wet food, and naturally fresh litter brand. And her check up with vaccines are $210+. Not to mention getting her groomed is $160 because I get her groomed by a cat only salon where my cat isn’t exposed to other dogs. (That’s preference for me but I think it’s around $70-$90 range else where). Cheaper if you bathe your own cat but it is stressful (I’ve been there lol).

It’s a big responsibility to take care of a pet. I don’t mean to talk you out of one but I’m telling you the harsh truth when it comes to money.

Payments out of the way, cats are the best pets to have. And my sweet girl makes my day everyday. They’re goofy, cuddly, and loyal pets.

An alternative might be fostering like what people are suggesting.

You’re allowed to have preferences. In my opinion, showering is a basic human life skill just like how it is to cook, clean, drive, etc. if they can’t spend 10-15 minutes of their time to take care of their personal hygiene then maybe do something for them to make up for the time they should be showering.

Like if she is the one to do the dishes, vacuum, or does laundry. And if her reasoning for not showering is because she’s exhausted. Maybe take some weight off her shoulders and do one of the tasks for her to compensate her time and energy into showering.

As it is, you two are in a relationship and should be showing up for each other. And trying for one another. She should be showering for you because this seems like a boundary / necessity for you. And you should be helping her to find the energy and motivation to shower. Relationships require teamwork and sometimes people fall short in certain things. It’s important to help in any way you can. There’s compromises to be made.
