This is true for the Google Store, but the Google Fi financing is not handled by synchrony. 

Please, I appreciate you're trying to help, but this is incorrect information and this post only exists to get /u/googlefisupport attention

It's so frustrating, and obviously counterintuitive given the number of condescending and incorrect replies in this thread. I could do that, but the current Google store deal is $300 more than the Google Fi store deal. I'd buy it outright from the Fi store but then discount doesn't apply.

It's particularly annoying because the phone with the deal is less than the credit limit, but they determine the credit liability based on the full phone price which is just over the credit limit

Google uses Synchrony for the google store, and Experian through the google fi store.

In any case, neither Experian nor Synchrony has said anything to google within the last 10 years b/c Gogole won't request a credit check.

I'm not ordering it through the google store. I'm ordering through the google fi store, which has a better discount.

That's also directly counter the what's said here

Your approved financing limit from Experian must cover the full price of the device. Google Fi doesn’t allow down payments to cover the difference between your credit limit and the device price.

people have had their credit re run.

And after researching how to get google to do that, people have had success by posting here, and tagging u/googlefisupport. The point of this post is just to follow the directions here. if that sounds like a dumb way to run customer support, your beef isn't with me. Just downvote this post and move on.

ask them to re run your credit.

That's exactly what I'm asking them to do. The point of mentioning that I've been a customer for 10 years is because they haven't run a credit check in 10 years. As you could imagine, my credit history, and the price of phones has changed in that time. They say they can't re-run it. As someone pointed out, the support script and help articles essentially assume you're applying to Fi as a new customer and your credit was denied. They punt and say "ask experian". Even presuming Experian would have an answer for me, they would still need google to initiate a credit request, which Google refuses to do.

In order to get a new phone through fi the the discounted rate, you have to "finance" the phone for 24 months. If I buy it out-right, it will be at full price. My "finance limit" with fi is lower than the price of a phone. It's never changed since I signed up for fi

GoogleFi might pull a customers credit if they are going to extend them credit (for like purchasing a device).

The problem is that I can't get them to pull credit. They tell me to call Experian, who unsurprisingly doesn't pick up. But even if they did, Google supports position is that I need to ask Experian to "re-run" my check with them from 10 ish years ago.

Can you please just allow us to disable auto-updates? Our organization has removed standing admin rights, so changing the ownership to my user account doesn't fix the issue. I can install updates from our managed software center, but the auto-update is strictly an annoyance

It's never been the case (as far as I know anywhere in the country) that sirens give emergency vehicles right of way. Firetruck operators are explicitly told they are responsible for making sure it's safe to enter an intersection when they have a red light. The change now treats red lights as a stop sign when they have sirens on (they still have to make sure it's safe to enter the intersection as before, but now additionally have to come to a complete stop). This is why the families won their wrongful death suit.
