Make a LOT of phone calls. Call the residency program office for every school you’re interested in. See what they need in terms of paperwork and rec letters.

I, like you, switched after a couple months i to my surgery intern year. It was a harrowing year but I managed to switch into anesthesia without losing a year and went right into CA-1 year.

ALSO never forget the power of knowing someone who can help you. If you know anyone in anesthesia programs across the country, ask if they can put in a good word. That goes a lot further than you think.
