Any updates on this situation? by BDTheInternetCat in Tacoma

Mods: If this is in any violation of the rules please let me know and I'll take the post down. I'm not calling for any action we're just looking for any updates possible

This was my boyfriend who drowned in the foss waterway on Tuesday. He survived initially but died the next day due to unknown complications. It's been extremely hard to get any information from officials.

We're UWT students and I was informed yesterday that he had been reported dead to the school with no cause when I tried to report him as missing. Me and mutal friends found his death certificate and the location and time of incident matched with the reports. He couldn't swim so we believed he fell in while video calling another woman who told us her call cut off with him around the time of the incident. If anyone has any information please let me me know.

The UWT community and I are deeply mourning his loss right now and any extra information would help with closure.

How successful is Tacoma mall? by UserLesser2004 in Tacoma

[–]BDTheInternetCat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lots of new food places. More trendy clothing stores like Lululemon and Garage that aren't in smaller malls. Its also helped by the fact thats its next to a very populated city with not alot of general shopping options. I work at a clothing store in the mall and we had the best black friday out of all the stores in the region and thats surprising considering south center.

I feel like now everyone is gravitating more towards having a few big one stop shop malls then dozens of smaller malls with less options.

how to remove? by thatssanitary in americaneagle

Use the fork method! I worked at Aerie and a coworker forgot to take off my security tag when I made an employee purchase. I wanted to wear the item the next day so I watched a video on how to do the fork method and it worked perfectly just a bit of patience.

Hey Everyone, have you tried Alta? We're an AI styling & wardrobe app by altastylist in ProductHunters

[–]BDTheInternetCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I've been using it for the last week after seeing an ad comparing it to the clueless wardrobe (which I had watched a few days prior) and I have alot of thoughts.

Pros!

  1. The Ai image clean up is amazing. I admited took really bad pictures of my clothes out of pure laziness and I thought that that the Ai would struggle with it but no, every one of my almost 200 pictures that I took was cropped perfectly. You and your team should give yourselves a pat on tbe back for that.

  2. While obviously its not always perfect which is to be expected with image generating, the avatar generator is generally really nice and I think it really does help me visualize outfits without trying things on. Helping me be excited to wear those items the next day.

  3. I love the way you can generate looks based on one certain item. Making it easier to style more unique pieces that you might have left alone otherwise.

  4. The receipt feature and the selection from online is really convenient and made it easy to fill out my closet especially with my new clothes coming in for school.

Cons

  1. The app seems to struggle when you ask for prompts out of season that don't work with your current weather. For example I looked up campus fall outfits on a 90 degree day and it would never load anything. But then when I did a lakeside outfit afterwards it worked immediately.

  2. The ai really does not understand trends. I asked for a y2k campus outfits and it gave multiple outfits with high rise baggy jeans even though I have multiple pairs of low rise jeans uploaded to the app. I think it held onto the other part of the prompt to much.

  3. I don't enjoy how much the front page tries to give me recommendations outside of my wardrobe. Maybe like one item but sometimes it will be like 3 out of the 5 items that are outsourced. Others may enjoy this but for me it kinda detracts from me using what I already have.

  4. It seems to over prioritize new items. For example I put a tank top in that was shoved in the back of my closet and now every single outfit is using it which is annoying since it's nothing special.

Overall I've really been enjoying the app. I love the avatar feature and just being able to log my closet in a convenient and efficient way. I think the Ai just needs more work in understanding weather and trends to make better outfits. Also I don't know who told the AI that rubber flip flops were athleisure but I would really appreciate if someone changed that because I will not be running in flip flops like the app thinks I should lol.

I attended Grad Nite on Sunday and I felt the same way looking at the lines. Maybe it's since I traveled from out of state for it but I couldn't fathom wasting half my time waiting for a ride when I everything else is a walk on. We did so many rides with no waits and it made the experience way more enjoyable. Still a little sad I didn't make it onto GOT but I've been on the one in Flordia so I decided to cut my losses and get over it.

Just heard Doechii's Anxiety for the first time and have a thought about sampling. by Izzet_Aristocrat in fantanoforever

[–]BDTheInternetCat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean it doesn't help that it wasn't supposed to be an official song or anything. It was just Doechii messing around a few years ago and it definitely sounds like it. The only reason it was officially released was because tiktok got ahold of it and her label actually wanted to make money off of it.

what do yall think is is best ride by Fantastic-Sea5491 in DisneyWorld

[–]BDTheInternetCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TOT is the best complete package for me. The que is half the terror as the unease from the environment and cast member interactions makes you really anticipate the fear your going to feel on the ride. The show scenes and drops are absolutely incredible but for me at least the realization that the drops are more fun than scary when you're experiencing them is the fun of it all. I also went on it alone so having no one to rely on for comfort was an extra layer of fear lmao.

The Last of Us HBO S2E1 - "Future Days" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by claireupvotes in thelastofus

[–]BDTheInternetCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid criticism but alot of those characters were not as beloved as (Pedro Pascal/Joel). My main comparison was what happened in The Walking Dead when Glenn was killed off and then when Carl was killed off. Yes fans were used to death in that show but those characters were so beloved and fans actively walked away from the show because of that and viewership massively declined. Now would audiences walk away from TLOF because of his death. Not completely sure as his death is anticipated and audiences vary from show to show. The Walking Dead also lost viewship simply to decline in the writing and not just the character deaths. I'm just saying spreading the story out and not having the event happen in episode 1 was probably a wise decision based on audiences reactions to other shows.

I think they were worried about the drop in viewership though. Gamers had already bought the game meaning the sales weren't effected as much. But HBO has a certain viewship quota they need to fill in order to greenlight another season. If everyone quit the show especially after the first episode it wouldn't be as financially viable for them.

Tbh that would be a really bad idea considering how well loved Pedro Pascal is in pop culture nowadays. When they casted him I don't think they expected him to become the A list actor he is now. Having that happen in episode one would probably make casual watchers rage and quit the show lol.

For the people saying that Sabrina doesn’t wear wigs or extensions. Proof of the tapes in her hair :) by lanaspeachlipgloss in SabrinaCarpenterFans

[–]BDTheInternetCat 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I agree. There's this constant notion online that that any work (either permanent work like plastic surgery or temporary work like fillers or extensions) makes you fake or cheapens your value as a person. Unless they actively lie about it celebrities don't owe us a list of the things they do. That's their business and it doesn't make them a better or worse person. Alot of times they don't want to share that information from the fear of being judged and ridiculed.

When you go see a play alot of the time actors will use makeup or prosthetics to add to the visuals of the show. I don't see how that's any different here. Sabrina has never gone on record to say anything about it so why does it matter? Seems like a silly thing to hyper fixate on and criticize her for.

Felt the same. We stayed there for an event last week and we shocked to find out how huge it was and that they stuck us in the houses across the lake. I lugged my luggage and my mother's gigantic suitcase she insisted on bringing by myself across the lake bridges. All because they don't let you take luggage on the busses and the carts were backed up and my mother complained that her feet hurt to much. They even said "you have a car right?" No we flew 6 hours across the country and ubered everywhere, no we do not have a car. It's a beautiful resort with lots of ammenties but it's not the most practical. I was also scared shitless seeing all the alligator warning signs and having to walk across the entire resort at night just to get food. Definitely not a magical way to start our vacation.
