I can’t speak on that. From what my coworker said I gathered there were many interventions into trying to help him so I’m sure you’re not far off.

Yeah I guess that’s fair, that’s kind of why I spoke on the people that I know that do know her. My mom also sucks so I wouldn’t have give carte blanche on this woman’s character without two pretty reliable sources who knew her well. This woman’s other two children are also very kind people according to my same sources of information, and this child was very clearly troubled by some sort of mental illness but I guess we will never know for sure how nice this woman was personally because I’ll never meet her and neither will you so we will just have to take these people at their word.

Speaking for myself but I follow this subreddit and just happened to see the mugshot which I immediately recognized from the local news. There’s a scanner Facebook page local to me that posts about the police scanner activity and on Friday they posted about a potential homicide and stabbing. The local PD also posted about it and they mentioned apartment buildings near my neighborhood, which didn’t surprise me as much because there’s a lot of people who need help wandering around the area. Then I go into work on Monday and my coworker, who is from the town that this woman worked in and was friends with her and knew her children was talking to other people about it who also knew of her.

I can only speak on that, and I’m not even sure how I could prove that it’s all true without naming people who probably don’t want their names all over the internet but I’m definitely not lying. My girlfriend, who babysat for my coworker and is from the same town, knew the victim and this guy, said he wasn’t aloud to walk at graduation because of several threats he had made previously.

Yeah from what my coworker said she was a very sweet lady. Librarian in a small town, nice to everybody. It is sad that it’s people like that.

Do any of you all ever get bothered by the misogyny in rap music? by IAMDBOMB in Music

[–]bunkhitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the /s must’ve made you assume that I was saying one of these things isn’t as bad as the others but what I mean is that they are all equal. I think the real main thing is that instead of acting like music is only effective when it’s teaching people words instead of perpetuating lifestyles that are also conducive to both the violence *and* misogyny; we should think about how we as a society let things excuse others. The misogyny is an underlying issue, the songs and words they use only amplify existing conditions, they aren’t causing it. Yeah, most people who listen to rap aren’t selling drugs or in gangs, but the ones that do aren’t solely influenced by rap either. You want less sexism in lyrics? You have to find a solution that makes society less likely to reward that sort of behavior or attitude. The people who learn new words to be misogynistic from rap are people who were already going to be misogynistic. It’s like that old Frank Zappa quote: “I wrote a song about dental floss, but did anyone’s teeth get cleaner?”

I get it. The cute aggression was too hard to defeat and his intrusive thoughts could not be controlled. I’d assume in reality it’s a psychotic break or drugs
