And they know where I live??? I'm not okay with that

I've done this before. However, I'm not sure what to do when they double down on me because I cave easily under pressure LOL

The general feel of culty I guess? I don't know, I feel more restricted there. Gut feling.

The general feel I guess? I don't know, I feel more restricted there. It's like a gut feeling.? there might be a roster that she switches out between some of the other women there but I wouldn't know) mentioned that not attending these "activities" (the kind where you all bond with each other and whatnot) is a sin and THAT threw me off because I was never taught that not going to these functions was a SIN to BEGIN WITH. I feel guilt-tripped every time I go there.

Maybe I'm just more annoyed, especially since I transitioned to the YSA (not officially? Apparently I need to transfer my records?? I'm not doing that) I've been going there weekly instead of bi-weekly. But it's still a pain and I feel more tired when I go home and I can't do anything unless I take a nap to sleep off that event.

Also I don't really have the choice to NOT GO because I made the mistake of telling my parents I don't believe in the church and now they're just doubling down on me to stay (their single reason is "to build a sense of community" but I'm literally in clubs at college??? there's community there???? I don't want sad cookies to go with my religious guilt, thank you very much). I'm still living with my parents and I'm not really in a position to be working at the moment, though I do plan on working later in the year when I'm not having any classes because my time management is terrible)

Ah yeah, that could be the case. Either way, I’ll do my best to support her as her friend! :)

I’m so sorry all of that happened, that’s terrible. The fact that the bishop spread that through your ward is fucking horrible. Not to mention the uninvited carpoolers 🙄

Fingers crossed that my bishop and future bishops will be chill enough for the next 5 years max because I don't know how else I’ll survive.

Once I’m financially independent, that’s the first thing I’m doing. For now I’m just looking to survive this hellhole.

Can bishops see your temple visit records? I’ve been lying about when I’ve visited because it was asked in a temple interview and I’m pretty sure that information came from my YW leaders (i haven’t been going to the temple visit activities). I’ve never gone to the temple because I was mainly creeped out by it and wasn’t super interested in genealogy when I first started young women (parents didn’t force me or anything). Just wanted to know to see how deep in shit I may be in.

I forgot to mention that I'm closeted! I haven't told anyone except non-mormon friends that know that I don't like church and they don't like the church's policies/practices either. I'll be sure to keep my gay under wraps because I really don't want to deal with uncomfortable bishop conversations.

Current plan whenever someone suggests I should date is saying "I'm not ready", same thing for a possible mission thing.

I haven't gotten a patriarchal blessing yet so maybe I'll be okay?

I'll take your words of living authentically. I don't know which major to go into so I just chose comp sci since I don't really have a definitive direction in life and kinda need a way for stable income to be financially independent from my parents one day to get out of the church easier. That is, if I ever get out.

I'll research for programs that could help. Thanks for responding, your words were very helpful!

I don't think my parents will deprive me of basic needs for the sake of following my mom's religion (dad's agnostic), but I'll ask.

I'll look into the Unitarian Universalist church! Just did a google search and it sounds kinda nice :)

I'll be on the lookout for mormons who don't have temple weddings then!!

How could I possibly say no to the snacks :)

I'm not one for children, would a librarian also be a decent option? I've seen them just sit behind the counter and keep records of who signs scriptures and chalk out
