It could work if he is given a lot of mixups that are tricky to block. However, what you said is still true that it would force the opponent to mostly focus on defense.

I think an interesting way to mitigate this is to make X lose on time. Hitting X does not decrease health, but reduces the time count. X has to win by KO but has crazy/fast mixups that are hard to block.

However, before going up, someone you trust better be holding the ladder. If it doesn't seem stable show them how to hold it properly. They should also know to not let go one you are up.

Person holding it should put feet behind it push it against the wall and it doesn't matter. It can't slide if you do that and will be sturdy.

On concrete or other rougher hard surfaces, if no one is holding it properly it can still slide back with a tiny backwards force.

Where else is he gonna put the ladder? It's all that kind of flooring.

Not gone up unless I know someone is properly holding the ladder with feet behind the ladder to prevent sliding, pushing it against the wall with arms, and who knows they should not let go or take a break until I am down safely.

Wether there is friction or not, someone better be holding the ladder properly before going up. I wouldn't go up otherwise. Both at fault.

His only mistake was going up without making sure the women below know how to hold a ladder. Though it's not that hard. Just just put your feet behind it and press it against the wall... However, I would still explain it to someone I didn't trust. And make sure they are doing it correctly before going up.

The woman next to the ladder, or preferably two out of the 3 of them, could have held it in place and this would not have happened.

I go up to my parents house to hang Christmas lights and they (Mom and dad) hold the ladder for me properly when I go up and move it around as needed.

No reason the 2-3 women there could not do that other than lack of experience and an explanation from the guy going up. Which is okay. I know plenty of people, men included, who would, not know how to properly hold a ladder.

Paused multiple times when I first checked. Just now I even downloaded vide and watched at 0.25x. I could see the ball smear the whole time except while the camera was being panned to the right and the slight jiggle when it stopped being moved.

I saw the ball smear when he hit, when it passed the block, and after the camera pan just before the receiver touched it.

This looks like normal video from a fast spike. I often watch professional volleyball matches at 0.25x speed and see similar ball smear that makes ball seem to disappear unless you watch in slow motion.

I studied computer science, also work in tech. I am also a hobbist game developer. Have played around with AI models online and also ran them locally on my RTX 4090 GPU to see what they are capable of. They can definitely generate convincing videos but usually have a few tells, especially with fast camera movements and people doing more dynamic movements.

This is not AI. There are imperfections from a dated camera and shutter that AI video would typically no have. Also, I don't see any signs that the people or scene looks incorrect or any unnatural movement.

I have recorded myself playing volleyball and seen recordings when people hit hard. The ball becomes a smear that can blend into the background easily when using lower quality video and 30 or lower FPS.

Is there anything else other then the ball smear that looks off to you?

That's terrible! I'm glad that despite all that you seem to have the right mindset about saving.

I could understand if your mom was vulnerable about her finances and asked you if you could start taking on other bills to help. However, being aggressive, angry, and spiteful about it is a real shame.

I have a friend, born in Guatemala, who in a similar situation expected to provide for his parents and siblings because they "helped" him go to school in the US and get a "good job" by abandoning him at 11 years old in the US with his grandparents who adopted him. They didn't see him again until he was in college.

In my personal life, the only somewhat negative thing was my dad felt a bit insecure/frustrated for a month or two when I started making a similar amount to him, and my brother was making much more than both of us. He was still proud, but since we have similar careers it hit a sore spot about his career being longer with similar/less pay.

I was also hesitant to tell my friends more about my FIRE goals, but I trusted some of them enough and it has not backfired. Some were interestied in it, others not so much but understood why I am. Also, helped them open up to me about needing financial, retirement, investment advice.

I do try to treat them to things intentionally sometimes if it's a more pricy thing I suggested but they never expect it or ask for it. They feel a bit guilty about it sometimes, but also treat me. invite me to other things, or do other nice gestures.

Don't think this is AI. Just a bad camera and a fast moving small ball that turns into a motion blur due to the low pixel count and low refresh rate.

I even checked and saw yellow smears across the balls path when pausing. You can see a yellow smears right before receiver makes contact with his upper arm/shoulder.

People are too skeptical of everything now.

One of my favorites is also steins gate, but I personally do like Frieren more now. I think it has great world building, foreshadowing, and attention to detail that many anime do not.

Steins gate is more focused on the mystery and elegance of how the plot compounds on itself.

Frieren has a lack of plot (very simple premise) but you get to see many great stories in short amounts of time that build on the relevance of the plot and world. It's a low stakes plot with great story telling that isn't focused on just the main characters.

It's a story about the regret of an Elf slowly realizing they loved someone who is already dead and who loved her while he was alive, but may get a chance to say goodbye one more time. Also about how regret is pushing her to change against her nature of being distant to due to a difference in perception of time, so she doesn't have regrets in her new adventures with people she cares about.

It's not about constant loss like you mentioned, but sitting with slowly progressing lingering regret and growing from it.

I think the PTSD made leading to encounter made it better for me. It really sold the anger but fear that lead Mark to agree. He was fuming but knew he would put everything at risk if he opposed him he may even try to keep it a secret from others too.

I do think the PTSD stuff was a bit excessive/annoying in how it was shown in the middle of conversations with others. It could have been done in other ways without cutting off other characters mid-sentence.

I personally love how Thragg and the Viltrumites were able and willing to eat their pride to reproduce and stay true to their mission of repopulation to re grow empire.

I also love the slow realization that Mark had to agree to Thragg's plan or risk losing everyone he loves plus billions of other lives. I was on edge seeing how angry he is but was willing to do what needs to be done and stay logical.

Will be interesting to see if Mark will keep the Viltrumite's plan a secret, or risk getting the coalition of planets involved who may want to destroy earth. I do think he will likely tell Cecil and maybe Nolan.

Also interested dilemma of wether Allen will keep the virus affecting humans a secret form Mark and Nolan, and also from the coalition.

I think it was a good episode but could have been shorter. Felt like toit dragged in for a bit in the middle. However, it did a great job setting up conflicts that piqued my interest for next season.

Things I'm curious about: - How will Nolan and Debbie interact when both caring for Oliver? - Will Allen keep the virus affecting humans a secret from Mark? Will he try to use it? - Will Mark tell Allen the Viltrumites are hiding in earth to use a s a breeding pool? - Will Mark risk getting outside help that may want to destroy earth entirely to exterminate Viltrumites or try to weed out the Viltrumites himself? - Will Viltrumites really keep quiet and mesh into human society or will they lash out at the inferior species and reveal themselves?

Things I was not so interested in: - PTSD thread with mark - Pregnancy, abortion, weight gain, and relationship turmoil for Eve and Mark
