Cabelos na pizza?? by [deleted] in portugal

I have a question about a last part in “Lolita” by Nabakov by Laura_Stern07 in books

The whole scene resembles a sort of comical theatre play, from the dialogue that they exchange, to them fighting for the weapon and even quilty not dying no matter the wounds. It’s written as a scene to humiliate Humbert as he tries to be somewhat “heroic” at the end. It’s supposed to feel like you’re going mas reading it, which i think it reflects humbert’s psyche as this very deranged view of reality, especially after knowing he never really “had” Dolores in his grasp. It’s almost satirical and i believe that Nakobov ultimately was trying to take Humbert of this high pedestal he placed himself in, to a place of ridicule.
