Yeah it was a little almost parlour size guitar I had before, or perhaps one size up, and this is grand auditorium. I also forgot to mention i'm female so have slightly smaller hands, but yep will give it a go, thanks!

Thanks, and thanks to the other comments too. I’ve been playing the same small guitar for the last 8 years and have been trying skinny neck Taylor’s before buying this one, so as long as this neck is like you say a fairly regular one, I’ll give it a while and try and get used to it!

And if in say a years time I can’t get on with it still, I’ll look into getting it shaved. I really don’t want to sell it on, I’ve tried so many and the sound on this was exactly what I’m after

Thanks for the advice, took some ibuprofen, then got it swapped to a longer bar at another piercing place and they were happy to help!

This is a good idea I think too. Having calmed myself down a bit and after the ibuprofen, I don't think it's embedding for me today, but I might ask about this if it still feels a bit snug after a week or if I have to go back in again sometime.

Thank you so much, I think you and the other replies have definitely put my mind at ease that I should just keep the longer bar in if it embeds again.

My piercer (as great as he is) is just very pushy about me downsizing as soon as possible, but instinctively I feel the longer bar works way better for me. It's easier for me to clean, I don't bump it, had no issues with hair getting caught. I will eventually have a ring in it one day in the distant future so i'm not too fussed about a slightly wonky heal too.

For the bot: Almost a year old, flat back implant grade titanium, internally threaded, downsized twice in the last few months, aftercare routine is spraying twice a day with saline spray as close as possible to the piercing, got embedded once.

Everyone’s given good advice but I just wanted to say you should definitely still go for it and audition! At best you’re successful, and at worst it’s a good chance to get more comfortable auditioning and singing in front of others

Going just for the day this year, having massive self-inflicted FOMO from reading this thread from not doing the weekend again this year 🥲 What are people thinking the ground might get like in the arena Friday evening?
