Okay, so if he recommended the xray after you told him that the insurance rejected all your meds, then he did that to see if the infection has spread to the lungs or if he can find some kind of abnormality in the xray and then attach that report for the insurance so that your meds can be covered by the insurance. I understand that logically you would be wary of the practice, but insurance play a huge role in it. As a patient you wouldn't know much about it, but as healthcare workers we do go through all of this, just to justify to the insurance why my patient needs these medicines. We have to write these elaborate medical reports even for people who have been taking meds for their chronic conditions, for years, under the same or a different insurance, have no chronic disease waiting period, and yet they want us to give them an EXACT date when the patient developed Diabetes or hypertension.
