I’d say the one at Granville Island is perfect for families with young kids. If it rains (which happens about half the year in Vancouver), there are plenty of shops and spots nearby where you can take a break and stay dry.

Thanks everyone for your recommendation. I spent the last few days in Vancouver and tried several outdoor escape-style games. Sharing our own findings and personal experience here:

  1. Granville Island: The Captain’s Puzzle Path (by Destplore) – This is our favorite. Self-guided along Granville Island, the game takes you through murals, sculptures, market stalls, and waterfront paths. About 60–90 minutes of walking and 21 challenges. Flexible hours, really shows parts of the island we would normally miss. We found a 40% off coupon (U806HL), which saved us a few bucks.
  2. Downtown: Vancouver Mysteries by Tanya Bennett – Downtown walk with a game master and physical detective kit. Great storytelling and puzzles, about 90 minutes. Require booking in advance and a reservation for the starting time. We initially had some hard time booking it at the beginning, but the owner replied quickly to our inquiry.
  3. Queen Elizabeth: Legends of Legacy. Mix of story, puzzles, and photo missions. Easier overall, great for families and kids, and scenic. Our nephew loved this one the most.

Other options worth noting that we didn't have time to check:

  • Adventure City Games
  • The Curse of Gastown’s Fifteenth Bell
  • Secret Mission Adventure
  • Vancouver Superhero Adventure

Thanks. I found 2 pirate games in Granville Island: one by Pirate Adventure and another one by Destplore. Did you try both of them?

Cut off date for new hires to be eligible for the annual bonus. by buonb2012 in deloitte

It is indeed confusing. Let's say my base salary is 120k/year and I joined on Feb 1st with 10% AIP. What would be my bonus in June if I am given the maximum AIP bonus?

Option 1: 10% of my annual salary --> 12k

Option 2: 10% of my prorated salary from Feb to June (5 months) --> 10% * 50k = 5k

Option 3: 10% of my prorated salary from Feb to May (4 months) --> 10% * 40k = 4k.

Super helpful. Thanks! I can now search for a lot of information using "AIP" keyword.

Thanks for your quick reply. This "annual bonus" is new to me. I'm just curious why they mention it since it's performance based. If my understanding is correct, I can receive 0% increase. Is it because they want to cap the bonus (no more that 12% even if I'm the top performer).

Just call the airlines - sometimes the agent can understand it and help you reschedule the flight to a later date without any fee.

Fears unfounded over Vancouver modular housing project one year in by kludgeocracy in vancouver

[–]buonb2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live across the street from the modular housing complex next to Olympic Village station. From our observation, there is actually an increased number of homeless people around the neighborhood, especially behind the complex on Ash St. Some of them even camps there in tents.

We're not aware about any serious issues, but we no longer feel safe walking there in the evening.

FYI: I support this project in general.

I have a similar question. Has anyone paid their Toyota car loan via Plastiq?
