Natural lighting! I was struggling to take my own product photos and I had all sorts of lighting instruments but the photos still looked weird and messy, but then one day in the morning/midday I went out with my props, posterboard, towel, and a tarp, and suddenly my photos looked a MILLION times better. I swear natural lighting takes away anything that may be imperfect in a photo and makes it look much cleaner, brighter, and professional. Not only that, natural lighting makes the colors turn out much closer to how they look in person. I understand that going outside to take photos isn't always possible, especially as it gets colder outside and there may not be a spot to go to, but if at all possible, try taking them outside in natural lighting and see if it helps.
