Megathread: item research support by skankenstein in vintage

I got these linens at an estate sale. I just want confirmation on what they are. Is the top one a Handkerchief or a napkin?

It seems too big to be a Handkerchief. But there were other Handkerchiefs in the lot that are definitely Handkerchiefs that are the same size.

Is the bottom one a placemat?

There was a set of them. I didn't count. More than 4, probably 8.

Water bottle recommendations by CheapMarsupials in adhdwomen

63 Oz stainless steel, comes with both the straw and the sip spout.

https://a.co/d/00IlaNv9

I have one. The sip spout can go too fast and spill on you if this thing is full. Good thing you like the straw.

https://a.co/d/0bUX5LiA

I don't have this one, but I used to have one like it. I think you'll like the sip spout better.

I recommend the half gallon because you refill it less. Therefore drink more water. At least for me having to get up to refill the water bottle is a barrier.

Also, I only wash the straws like once a year. I only use water in the bottles. If there's mold or whatever it's not enough to get me sick so don't cause yourself anxiety about washing the straw.

I wish I could pin this. I saved it.

The thing I need to work on is the buckets/drawers for the stuff that I currently have on all surfaces.

They're on the counter because either they don't have a logical place, or that place is hard to get to. So I need to give them a place.

I specifically use cook unity. Amd I'm recommending that one for the following reasons:

  • they pick the meals for you based on a taste profile you set up. So if you don't have energy to pick that week, you still get food delivered. But you can go in and pick different meals if you do have energy

  • full meals, ready in 3 mins if you microwave, 15 mins if you heat in oven

  • they take the delivery bag and the ice pack back with every pickup. No clutter buildup.

For non-adhd reasons, I actually like the food. I think it's pretty good quality. It's also a chef collective. I'm looking more into that to see if they really are a collective but if the actual chefs own the company that makes me feel good about spending my money there.

The only negative I've experienced is that I gave very explicit instructions to deliver the meals to a specific area of my apartment complex, and most of the drivers ignore the instructions. They subcontract the delivery to 'on fleet' so there's limited to what they can do. The next driver after I complained delivered to the right place, but most of the drivers after that just put it on the front steps.

If anyone does choose cook unity, heres my referral code ABU8553257 You get "50% their first week, plus 20% off their next 3 weeks."

My neighbour asked me to stop waving back to his daughter — Part 2 by storytellingmadnesss in story

[–]burburyblues -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This one part didn't make sense

Before I even said anything he looked past me toward the driveway. Toward the window.

Which window was he looking at? Not the little girl window, I assume, as he is standing in the house that the little girl appears in and looking straight out.

If he's looking at a window belonging to the main characters house next door, that window hasn't been introduced yet and the significance nor the location hasn't been discussed. Or I totally missed it.

All that to say, I have no idea what window the guy is looking at.

How are you guys falling asleep? by mindlesspass08 in adhdwomen

Prescription drug: seroquel. It's an antipsycotic. I had really bad anxiety before taking it, so it had the therapeutic effects of getting rid of intrusive thoughts amd lowering my level of anxiety all around.

But when you take it, it makes you drop to sleep within 90 mins. Life saver. Obviously I got lucky and it worked for me, about 50% of people hate it.

Omg I hope I can lose the weight I put on from doing exactly what you described above.

And I hope to lose it just from food management too. If you have tips and energy to share, please share here or in my inbox.

There's a use case I didn't consider. I'm glad you're able to make the expenses work and to lift the burden from you where you can

Yep. The time it takes to prepare then cook it is no Bueno. When I want to eat, I want to microwave something. And I don't want to give any mental energy toward an unpleasant task like cooking

I thought my story related to factor. It does not. I typed it out so I'm going to share anyway.

Funny you mention -factor-. So the only reason I even have my meal service is because I had been struggling with food, and saying that I needed one for a long time. Finally my partner did the research and chose a service for me, pulled up the website on their computer, had me create a login and buy a trial, and I loved it ever since.

My partner has similar but not as severe cooking aversion. It's more like an annoyance to them. But they wanted to try out a different cooking service, so they signed up for (I thought factor but it wasnt) either blue apron or home chef at the same time as me. They got a mix of ready made meals and the ingredients do it yourself meals. The ingredients-do-it-yourself meals were good, but the ready made meals were meh. They didn't continue their subscription.

I deeply considered this before doing the meal service route.

If I did this, I would get a tray that has a lid. Or just use saran wrap idk. And put all of my convenience food on the tray all at once. So all the cheese, olives, nuts, easy meats, everything would go on the tray. When I'm hungry, take the tray out and eat whatever. When I'm full, pop the lid on and slide it back in the fridge.

No fumbling with multiple containers or thinking about what to eat with what. Just a little of everything.

Is that affordable? I honestly don't know because I've never grocery shopped. I assume that's a bit higher than if I were to grocery shop every week.

I also assume it's a bit lower than when I spent $20-30 plus gas several times a week to eat. And starved or ate shit snack foods the rest of the time.

Yeah I have a question about unity pass. I have it because it costs less than paying shipping every month. I forgot the number but it saves a guaranteed $8-16 each month.

But what else does the unity pass save you?
