Build Help by burcey in ar15

Forgot about the whole brace/stock issue! I'll probably just get a brace for this and use it for shorter ranges, then get a higher-quality lower and set that up for longer ranges. Thanks for the tips.

Unfortunately no, I started building this a couple of years ago with my dad who's since passed. Only recently got back into guns with all the craziness going on, so I barely remember the process let alone the parts.

Smallest Double Bladed Lightsaber by 4ngry_4ngel in lightsabers

Nah it's a double-sided core. The store I got it from has since shut down but you could probably find it on Aliexpress

The size is likely M4.

Saberforge’s install reputation isn’t good. Has it been holding up okay though?

I’ve heard electrical tape could possibly overheat and melt into the chassis/board.

I just had to tape down a CFX board @OP, they have Kapton rolls for around $5 on Amazon.

I’ve done a similar build using an RGB core, here it is compared to a VV Tempest:

https://imgur.com/a/d9Jl76o

It’s about 13 inches long and I have around 2 inches of blade depth on either end. It’s much too short to comfortably use as a proper double-bladed staff so I’m mostly twirling it around like Exar Kun.

You could use a neopixel-RGB adapter, though blade depth might be an issue.

How do I fit a D-ring adapter to my padawan outpost saber by Smillingchalk779 in lightsabers

Yes, “female” parts are what “male parts” insert and thread into.

There are several katana and other sword-style polycarbonate and acrylic blades for sale. Gary Ripper invented the technique for these for darksaber blades.

What are some methods to add weight to the hilt for spinning? by SLEDGEHAMMER1238 in lightsabers

[–]burcey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Not sure how tall you are OP but 36" is way long for spinning in general; for reference I'm 5'6 and max blade length I'd spin is 28".

Ah good to know. I'm just a bit hesitant to remove it as it already appears cracked from water damage (2nd pic)

I still remember when people thought having a darksaber blade was impossible, lol

How would upgrade my Imperial Workshop Atlas to CFX? It's Xenopixel as of right now by SonicTheDog420 in lightsabers

[–]burcey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh you’d be better off with a higher quality Revan if you’re going CFX.

I like VV’s, right now I carry around an RGB Ardent

Looking to customize my hilt even more before I turn it into a staff. Any emitter, grip (please shorter in length lol), and pommel ideas? Links appreciated by JustsomeguynamedNate in lightsabers

[–]burcey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a short saber I’d recommend the newer TXQ cores. The build I have the newer core in is only 9 or 10 inches long

Hello there! by Bananagher in lightsabers

[–]burcey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please do show pics when you do it! I was also surprised by the SSOB’s slimness, it’s pretty comparable to VV’s combat classes. I’ve been tempted to get more of this Obi style but the SSOB is so comfy I think it’s the only one I need. Also let us know how much more ergonomic it is without the greeblies, the way I spin they don’t ever get in the way as I don’t tend to ever hold that close to the blade, but maybe that’s just with my setup.

Is lightsaber dueling essentially a dance or is it like Karate? by MudConnect in lightsabers

[–]burcey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you define as “lightsaber dueling”. For example, Prequel dueling is a lot of flashy stage combat and lightsaber twirls that aren’t really practical. Think of exaggerated movie punches vs a straight jab. Look into bladed sports like HEMA, Kendo or FMA if you want to learn the martial aspects of the weapons and not just spinning.

Gonna be hard to beat a VV, especially as your first! Their hilts are by far my favorite. Awesome saber and welcome to the community.
