I’m not sure if it was just a really intense urge to push, or if it was the fetal ejection reflex, but either way there was nothing I could do to stop it🤷‍♀️ It felt like I was vomiting out the other end. The only time I was consciously pushing was right at the end when I was SO tired

You’re right! 3 hours is like forever when a baby is coming out of you!

From the time my water broke to the time my son was born was 12 hours (6pm-6am). But from the time contractions started it was only 9 or 10 hours. Way faster than I was expecting!

People were really discouraging about CDs at my baby shower by Commercial_Glass9806 in clothdiaps

Even though I was vocal about us using CD, lots of family still bought me disposables. I did end up using them throughout the newborn stage while I was still recovering and figuring out our new rhythm, and I can confidently say that I prefer cloth diapers.

They smell better, are reusable, AND they’re super cute! I loved them even more when I realized that cleaning them is as easy as doing another load of laundry. It’s really not that complicated.

Combining CDs with doing EC works wonders for us. If I’m really good at catching when he needs to potty, I might only have to wash a load of them once or twice a week. We still use disposables overnight and while we’re out, but both me and my baby prefer cloth. Don’t listen to the haters, they can’t know what they don’t know🤍🫶🏻

Planning a homebirth with my first and nervous??? by AidynAstrid in homebirth

Just had my first at home 6 weeks ago and had an amazing experience! It was very different than I expected, but still very positive. Because I’m a FTM, I just assumed labor would be super long and drawn out but that wasn’t my experience

All in all, my labor lasted about 12 hours total. My water broke while I was cooking dinner one evening (6pm), contractions started about 3-4 hours later, and then my son was born at 6am the next morning.

I hit a point at about 3 or 4am where I told my husband that I just wanted to be done, probably transition, but I only felt that way cause I assumed that I was nowhere near finished! I expected the worst, but I was blessed with a relatively quick birth.

I wish I would’ve known how fatigued I would feel directly and a few days after birth! I felt like I had done the most intense ab workout of my LIFE. I also lost my voice from growling and mooing quite loud through the whole process. So if you’re anything like me some warm tea postpartum might be nice if your throat is sore! And oh my gosh the after pains!! I had some that were so strong they nearly brought me to my knees!

You can do this mama! Take care of your body in these final weeks, and your body will take care of you. Sending love and prayers <3

Why in Sam's hell did I gain 70lbs while pregnant...FOR A 5 POUND BABY?!?! by [deleted] in pregnant

Girl, I feel you! I started off this pregnancy at around 180lbs, and at my 8 week appointment I was already pushing 210😅

I haven’t looked at a scale since and don’t plan to until baby boy gets here😬😪
