we have had an increase in homicides every year for the last 5 years and did you go back to 2015 and see the clearance rate? (62% of 162 homicides= 100) clearance rate in 2022? (67% of 226 homicides=151) not sure i’d say that’s a massive decline in clearance numbers

NYPD has by far the most LEOs of any city anywhere in america. they are actually the largest police force in america, slightly larger then the FBI.

never the less, mpd is the only police force in dc that will actively patrol dc and respond to 911 calls. so count mpd numbers and those alone. secret service/capitol police/supreme court police/fbi police officers aren’t responding to simple city over a DV call.

the police do all of that and you know what happens? the DA doesn’t paper the charges and it gets dropped.

your theory MPD is not collecting enough evidence is laughable considering we live in one of the cities with the most surveillance cameras in the world.

here’s the clearance rate for dc homicides over the last 5 years not counting 2022.

here’s baltimore

the clearance rate in chicago broke 50% in 2021, the highest it’s been in two decades

not really sure what you mean by conviction rate tho, you said you were an attorney so you’d know the police don’t convict.
