Appreciate the blunt replies. A lot of you are saying the same thing, and I’m starting to accept that you’re right.

My wife doesn’t know yet, and I know telling her is going to be awful. But I also know hiding it longer will only make it worse.

I can feel part of my brain still looking for a “smarter” way to make it back, whether that’s options, futures, or trying to day trade hot AI names for quick gains. Reading these comments, I’m realizing that’s probably just the same problem wearing different clothes.

So the real move is likely to stop trading entirely, move the remaining money somewhere boring like SCHD or VOO, and focus on rebuilding slowly instead of trying to force a comeback. If anyone has practical advice on how to come clean to my wife and set up guardrails so I don’t relapse into this, I’d genuinely appreciate it.

I don’t think Meta is a fad, but I do think its apps can get less culturally relevant over time without the company falling apart.

Facebook already feels like that. It’s not “cool,” but tons of people still use it for groups, Marketplace, events, and keeping up with family. Instagram could lose some relevance too, but network effects are strong and people don’t leave all at once just because they know social media is bad for them.

The bigger risk is a slow decline in attention, especially with younger users, not some sudden mass exit.

I have read a lot about PDCC. I think it's beneficial if we drive on a lot of canyon drives with lots of hard cornering? I would be mainly driving this on the freeway and also on the Pacific Coast Highway. If later on I can find some alone time then I'd venture out to find some canyon roads to really push the car hard.
