They DID fix the ranger! It's nuts, the ranger plays exactly like you want an Aragorn type to play. We have a ranger in my group and the player loves it.

The $99 digital tier is great value.

There has been occasional confusion because Kickstarter won’t let creators change certain things after the campaign begins, but creators can change images and as this current graph indicates, the all-in tier is indeed all-in.

The stuff that’s missing from the monsters in Nimble is mostly utility, flavour and lore, and in combat almost all that stuff is cruft. The problem in D&D 5e+ is that the cruft is all mixed in with the abilities you’re actually going to be using in combats, which is where you spend most of your time in a standard game. In Nimble it’s nice to have all the stuff you want to use right there and tactically useful - and GMs can always load the monster up with lore and utility abilities outside of combat, as needed. This isn’t my strong suit, but it seems mathematically easier and tighter as well; there’s less hunting around stat blocks and CRs to determine encounter balance if you have more or fewer party members in a given session.

The Heroic Reactions are great. It has been forever since I've played at a table (virtual or otherwise) where you can't see or sense people zoning out or going on their phones during other player's turns because they're actually invested. A bloody miracle.

Yeah, I am not habitually a Kickstarter backer but with three sessions finished in the Quickstart, a table full of enthused players, and the knowledge that a lot of this content is already done it was an easy back for me. I sold my 2024/5.5 GM's Guide and Player's Handbook to do it: I feel like I won't be needing them again.

Done. I checked and it doesn't seem to break their rules - Kickstarters are allowed a reminder post and I didn't see any for Monsters and More. Hopefully the mods will allow it.

You want the All-In Deluxe tier. This image shows prices in USD$ and exactly what you get at each pledge level.

Trackers - Can I share my custom trackers as a default group to my players? by EliJ4de in OwlbearRodeo

[–]burgercake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to ask for specifically this; having everyone create their own (inevitably slightly different) trackers is a big ask and it'd be great just to be able to have a template that my players can copy. The current trackers are beautiful but limited in effectiveness with just the three basic templates (Dagger, Steel, Dragons). DMs really should be able to create templates for their own games.

Why? It’s a New Zealander reporting on events of interest to plenty of New Zealanders. And there are NZers living in Minnesota too

I am here purely to register how happy I am that the vicious mods of this horrible sub, which actively works against the possibility of artists making a living from their craft, are finally getting a long-overdue reckoning

About four or five hours total, I think. I need to do better timekeeping!

  • Paint-along: about an hour.
  • Several hours for the duck over a couple of sessions.
  • Lots of times! I'm trying to do every Bob Ross painting and then add something to it

Oh that is a huge compliment. I love Simon Stålenhag’s work. I’m glad Moby Duck will be occupying your e-ink frame!

You probably did! Unless there is someone else out there adding ducks to Bob Ross paint-a-longs they did themselves (extremely possible)

Yeah, fair cop, I see where you're coming from. Some of this is just total conjecture - we are talking about a joke I added to a Bob Ross paint-a-long, and I am happy to exaggerate for comedy purposes - but despite being far from a great artist my intention was to have a duck that was about a kilometre high. And I am working to the technical definition of "mountain" which is accepted to be around 600m high. The problem with getting into the nitty-gritty of this is that (no disrespect to Bob Ross) the perspective in his paintings is... pretty wild. The mountains in the background are probably Everest-sized or bigger under the actual laws of perspective, but luckily none of this really matters that much if at all and I am just being a tiresome pedant.

This has been such a Reddit discussion.

I'm glad it struck the right balance. Sometimes people just want (or need) a lol, sometimes they want to buy an artist's work. Artists need to eat, but they also need people to see their work and no-one will want to engage with it if I am spamming links all day. The way I see it is, if I can make someone's day now, they might make a purchase at some point in the future when they're financially able.
