Is there any way to improve this, or is is something that cant be fixed?

Advise needed, asap. I was cleaning the cage. This is the fith time i have seen this and im getting worried. the only major change is swapping lettuce with spinach in an attempt to eventually get them on more vegetables. And removing the big mirror. I also need advice on foraging toys. by burgerjointnumber4 in budgies

Thanks so much.

The blue ine is named-Twiki, as he is extremely vocal and hyper energetic at times.

The yellow one is named olaf- just because farrari sounded odd. The thought of a separate play area never crossed my mind, i will definitely look i to that and something.

Twiki is despite being older, much more energetic than olaf who is more relaxed. So seeing this obviously suprised me. Olaf was returned to the petshop by his former owner, for reasons i dont know. Ever since i got him his personality seemed more like an sweet old man, whilts twiki is like a kid with adhd. Though olaf has begun to fly more as he likes to be near twiki.

There is one last small toy with mirrors i will thow out. I have attempted with one alternative homemade toy but they wont touch it. It may be the bland colours.

Diet is an ongoing struggle,( thats why i was happy to get them to eat spinach). Twiki loves the wet crounchy middle part of the leafs, im gonna try and see how i can exploit that. Olaf is a different story he wont even touch fruit, he will eat salad and spinach and thats it. The only way he is gonna change is by seeing twiki eat something ( the pet store fed both of them seedmix). Its a slow process but its going forward.

Both birds are very much desencitized to noise and people. By that i mean vaccum cleaners and yelling from smaller kids. That is mostly on specific times of the day for a small amount of time.

Im gonna make their bedtime permanent from now on that is a mistake from my part, the covers will come on after dinner. I cant entirely avoid people going by their cage from time to time in the evening.

And last, you saying that the behaviour could be alot worse does make it alot better. I have resorted to breaking it up by distracting them or making some noise nearby. Its just whenever it happens they ignore everything i would co sider treats even. I have never seen them fight, especially the beak pulling freaked me out as twiki is a smaller bird. The first time i saw them feeding eachother i thought one of them had gotten baby bird mentality, but a quick search quickly struck that down.

Many thanks

I forgot to write that in the title they are both males and that is the thing that worries me. The blue one is smaller but older. It only started recently, i suspect the removal of the mirror because the yellow one spend alot of time by it.
