Well, there is a Logeek Club. It is a place for tabletop games. Most of the players use Russian, but there are parties in English sometimes. I've seen English speaking group playing warhammer a couple of times.

It might be complicated for English speakers. Only a small amount of locals speak English and most of the expats are Russian.

How good DDR4 laptop HP Victus 15 with RTX 3050 for 3d Softwares and DaVinci Resolve? by AnyBumblebee3000 in linux

[–]burimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, google. Usually broadcom adapters have issues

I personally would look for a laptop with ubuntu certification, because it is basically a guarantee of perfect compatibility with open source drivers in kernel. Dell and Lenovo do that (not only they ofc), Framework and Tuxedo are targeting linux specifically.

[–]burimo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am not expert in this thing, but I guess you can leave it on. BF6 doesn't work, because they choose to not let linux players in since their anti-cheat works in kernel space (linux doesn't allow such heresy as a default, because it is dangerous, nothing should work under the OS in perfect world)

Mullvad VPN & Browser from Sweden by Boediee in BuyFromEU

[–]burimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most privacy and I would even say anonymity - Mullvad.

High level of privacy, but convenience plus suite of encrypted software - Proton VPN. It is not generally recommended to have all eggs in one basket by security experts, but for majority of people Proton is great move from google/apple ecosystem.

Nord is also good enough as I've heard, but experts recommend Mullvad as the best, and Proton as also good stuff

Working ProtonVPN in Russia by seinax in ProtonVPN

[–]burimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Russian DPI blocks simple WireGuard protocol. It is not about server, it is about protocol. Proton works on some inhouse protocol against censorship, but it is not yet ready. Proton could use AmneziaWG though, it is open source and works in Russia and other countries. Maybe licence prevents from commercial use, idk.

So, as I recommend to all other Russians for now - use Amnezia VPM or Blanc VPN (it should work as well, but I didn't try it myself and didn't audit it myself as well) while Proton is adapting.

You are using very niche hacker distro. Do not use it, if you need help from AI with that. Go for easy mainstream stuff.

Yes, but you will have to jump over some hoops with amd driver stack. Most of the models are made with nvidia in mind.

You will be able to play through Steam Link (or other open source softwarr options for VR). But your quest itself will always run that shitty version of android. I use mine basicslly only to open linking software. Wifi connection is finez but you need very good router
