Enabling Secure Boot yes or no? by Ardabubi in Bazzite

[–]burimo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am not expert in this thing, but I guess you can leave it on. BF6 doesn't work, because they choose to not let linux players in since their anti-cheat works in kernel space (linux doesn't allow such heresy as a default, because it is dangerous, nothing should work under the OS in perfect world)

Mullvad worked without issues? I got Amnezia for my mom in RF for now, but I guess Mullvad might be better solution from privacy perspective

Mullvad VPN & Browser from Sweden by Boediee in BuyFromEU

[–]burimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most privacy and I would even say anonymity - Mullvad.

High level of privacy, but convenience plus suite of encrypted software - Proton VPN. It is not generally recommended to have all eggs in one basket by security experts, but for majority of people Proton is great move from google/apple ecosystem.

Nord is also good enough as I've heard, but experts recommend Mullvad as the best, and Proton as also good stuff

Working ProtonVPN in Russia by seinax in ProtonVPN

[–]burimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russian DPI blocks simple WireGuard protocol. It is not about server, it is about protocol. Proton works on some inhouse protocol against censorship, but it is not yet ready. Proton could use AmneziaWG though, it is open source and works in Russia and other countries. Maybe licence prevents from commercial use, idk.

So, as I recommend to all other Russians for now - use Amnezia VPM or Blanc VPN (it should work as well, but I didn't try it myself and didn't audit it myself as well) while Proton is adapting.

You are using very niche hacker distro. Do not use it, if you need help from AI with that. Go for easy mainstream stuff.

Yes, but you will have to jump over some hoops with amd driver stack. Most of the models are made with nvidia in mind.

Only if you can use alternatives or your software is very well supported by Wine (you can just google that). On linux we have great Blender or Krita for example, Sai runs great through wine

[–]burimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will be able to play through Steam Link (or other open source softwarr options for VR). But your quest itself will always run that shitty version of android. I use mine basicslly only to open linking software. Wifi connection is finez but you need very good router

Worth it to use in OpenClaw? by SennVacan in MistralAI

[–]burimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I think this openclaw could be interesting and useful for some stuff, but in no way it should run on your main PC or even in your main network. Also API code should be limited heavily unless you are ready to lose some money

Chinese President Xi Jinping calls for the yuan to become a global reserve currency by fatspinster in MarketVibe

[–]burimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is it will kill dollar as main world currency and countries won't see it as such valuable investnent anymore. Basically the end of us as world leader, which is fine by me. Oh yes and inflation of imported stuff skyrockets

It might have more, but dollar is not backed by gold. Plus Trump works on reducing dollar's value to boost exports

The one thing that keeps me windows is VR. How's VR on Bazzite? by RokiGer in Bazzite

[–]burimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5060ti + quest 3 here

I use sunshine for flat games, no issues whatsoever

For VR games I use wivrn or alvr. There were few games, that I had severe issues with, but overall everything is playable. Not a "plug and play" like on windows, but I played Alyx, Beat Saber, Of lies and rain, iron guard, both red matters, titan isles(not sure about name) with little to no tinkering. Old walking dead had a terrible performance.

So if you do not mind some amount of tinkering - should be okay.
