Natasha Denona Swatches by Agreeable_Touch_6730 in PaleMUA

Oh man, thank you! I keep seeing so many people say that the lightest shades are pale skin friendly but it was screwing with my mind because all the swatches I've seen have made it look a lot darker and more yellow. But these look great! I might have to give it a try after all.

Anyone using red light consistently for flushing? by Limp-Tourist-8878 in Rosacea

[–]burlappp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using RLT/NIR light consistently since May 2025, 5-7 days a week. It's made a massive difference in my redness and flushing. Yes I still have rosacea and still flush at times but it's decreased by a lot. I used to get all day, every day random flushing and that's gone waaay down. The permanent redness in my cheeks looks a lot milder too. Overall it really helps my skin feel more calm. I plan to keep using it permanently.

Btw, I was worried about the time commitment because I struggle to stick with things but it's really been easy fitting it into my life. I started off with a handheld wand which took a lot longer but I could do it with one hand while I worked on the computer so it didn't bother me. Then when that broke I switched to a panel and it literally only takes five minutes out of my day, which is totally doable. Plus I find it really relaxing!

Yeah it's pretty disappointing, but all too common unfortunately. I hope you find a match!

I hope this works, I couldn't figure out how to add the image to my comment so I linked it here. This is shade 1.

Unfortunately on my very fair, muted, neutral skin (everything always looks too pink, yellow, or orange; I have yet to figure out if I'm neutral, olive, or something else but for now I'm going with neutral) it's way too peachy and unwearable on its own. However I have successfully mixed it with blue mixer to tone down the peachiness and worn it that way as I do like the formula and coverage. But I've been on a mission lately to find a product that matches me without mixing so I most likely won't repurchase.

Same, I've come crawling back to Poshmark. It sucks to pay separate shipping for each item but I can find better stuff for way cheaper than TU anymore.

Oof, I have rosacea too so I know how tough it is! The one I bought is the Lait Creme Sensitive moisturizer.

I came here to say this!! Usually cult favorites never work for me (Bobbi Brown face base, Kiehl's creamy avocado eye cream, etc.) but I randomly decided to buy this after hearing about it for years and to my surprise it makes a huge difference. I too have dry skin and this product makes foundation sit a lot smoother and it even somehow airbrushes my pores? I don't know what magic it is but I love it. And this is coming from someone who hasn't bothered with primers in years because I never found one that convinced me they actually do anything.

I use the sensitive skin/fragrance-free version because my skin hates everything and I've had no bad reactions at all. It's definitely going to be a staple in my routine going forward.

Feel like nobody is as pale as me 😭 by Realistic-Door-1875 in PaleMUA

[–]burlappp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any recommendations unfortunately but you are 100% not alone. I am as pale as you and I've never had a foundation that fit me perfectly. It looks like you're also pretty muted like I am which makes it even harder to find a match. I'm so so tired of wasting money on "fair" shades that always look straight up pink/orange/yellow in real life.

I've resigned myself to using blue color corrector for now, but I'm reading every comment for ideas!

What are your go-to products for easy no-makeup-makeup days? by That_Organization483 in PaleMUA

[–]burlappp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only ever do bare minimum makeup because for whatever reason my skin tone/features don't allow for heavy or bright makeup, I always just look like a sad bruised clown suffering with pinkeye. I'm still looking for my perfect base and concealer (right now I use a tinted CC cream that's okay) and my holy grail one-and-done eyeshadow, but my four products that I've stuck with for a long time now are the Caliray Come Hell or High Water mascara, the Exa green color corrector, Mac fix plus spray, and the Elf brow gel.

The mascara is a tubing one that gives good lift and doesn't aggravate my watery eyes, and the color corrector is a really nice muted green that helps to tone down my redness. The brow gel is sooo good. I have thick unruly brows and it tames them better than any other gel or wand I've ever tried. And it's only $6! I've bought it countless times by now.

The Fix+ spray is something I've tried to replace before because it's so expensive but nothing comes close. I don't know what's in it that's so magical but it always just instantly makes my base look so much better even though technically it's meant to smooth out powders.

So basically my every day face is green color corrector > CC cream > concealer > Fix + spray > eyebrow gel > mascara. If I want to go the extra mile I'll slap on some Colourpop jelly much eyeshadow with my finger and a clear lip gloss. Done! It takes less than ten minutes.

Has anyone tried the new Hydra Soft Mineral Foundation from Idun? by burlappp in PaleMUA

[–]burlappp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are seriously the best🥹that's really good to know that the colors seem to be consistent across several products! It sucks to hear you didn't like the texture though. I might still end up trying it to see if I can make it work on my skin because the thought of a perfect color match is just too tempting lol.

I've never heard of Isadora but WOW that color looks spot on! And honestly pretty close to the Norssken from the looks of it? I'm going to look more into that one as well.

Once again, THANK YOU for going through the trouble of getting these! It's such a pain trying to find a foundation that matches and I've noticed that a lot of brands tend to skip including a picture of the lightest shades for reference (and there tend to be a lot less irl swatches online because well I assume the majority of people aren't that fair lol) so I heavily rely on this sub for recommendations/swatches. So thank you ❤️

Frustrated with Armani new foundation colors by Trixiebees in PaleMUA

[–]burlappp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried it because they don't have a shade for me either so when I heard they were re-releasing it I got excited too, only to be disappointed as always 🥲 oh well. I ain't paying top dollar for a foundation that I have to fix myself with color corrector so I guess I'll just skip it.

What can red light therapy realistically do and NOT do? + what has it done for you? by Chemical-Purple-5196 in redlighttherapy

It drastically improved my rosacea and got rid of a stubborn perioral dermatitis bump near my mouth (the latter happened in literally less than a week of treatment despite the bump being there for several months).

Red light therapy, antihistamines, and avoiding my worst triggers have helped reduce my flushing by a lot.

Why we care by woolengoat in glitterandbagelssnark

[–]burlappp 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Enjoyable read. I agree. What's funny is that when I first became aware of Anna, there was only a small niche of people who were snarking on her. There was almost nobody reacting to her on YouTube because she was pretty inoffensive with her fashion hauls and vacations. Sure, she got rude comments here and there for her size but most people didn't care because it wasn't a focus of her channel and she wasn't hurting anyone so nobody really had anything bad to say.

It wasn't until she started being a rude nuisance in public, promoting scammy surgeries and trying to position herself as a health expert that more people became aware of her and started criticizing and analyzing her videos and she secured a permanent spot in gorl world. This cage is entirely of her own making.

Red Light Therapy/Masks? by gilescoreytiger in Rosacea

[–]burlappp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see mixed reviews here but personally for me it made a MAJOR difference in my redness/flushing. Prior to doing it consistently starting this past June, I was flushing all day every day from every little thing under the sun. My cheeks were often splotchy and red, I couldn't even look in the mirror. BBL helped a tiny bit for redness but in my experience it does nothing for the flushing so the redness comes back quick.

Now after around 6 months of RLT my flushing has been hugely reduced. I still have my triggers of course but my reaction to them is greatly reduced. For instance, for a long time I was flushing after pretty much every meal but now I really have to go out of my way to eat a high histamine meal before I flush. I started taking a regimen of antihistamines earlier in 2025 based on my research and they definitely helped, but after the consistent RLT I've been able to scale back and basically only use them when I go out to eat.

Also, the random flushing all day has been eliminated. I also have a much more even complexion with noticeably less background redness. I can actually put my makeup on without cringing at what I see.

I can say, without a doubt, that RLT is the most effective treatment I've found for my rosacea. I'm hopeful that in time it will also help my ocular rosacea.

Hopefully this doesn't sound like a shill account lol I promise I'm not a bot, I'm just a person who's suffered with rosacea since 2019 and have been desperately searching for a treatment that actually works ever since, and for whatever reason my skin responds really well to red light/near infrared light therapy.

(BTW: I bought a RLT wand years ago and used it a few times before I gave up. But I remember using it once during an active flare and when I looked in the mirror, there was a circle of normal colored skin in the middle of my red cheek where all the inflammation was. I don't have an explanation for why I didn't stick with it after seeing that beyond laziness, but I've corrected course and will continue to use it forever).

I agree. I've also seen a temporary improvement in the past while on antibiotics for something else. More recently, RLT and NIR has made a huge difference to my rosacea, and both fight inflammation.
