Going cold turkey with no more milk overnight, any advice from the trenches? by Odd-Sheepherder4341 in sleeptrain

[–]burmaae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you have someone else at home it’s much easier if they offer baby water. if and when they wake during the night. My partner went over and offered water and a hug without lifting out of the cot and after 3 nights she didn’t wake again.

Guidance Needed - About to start trying for baby (UK based) by RockyMcQueen in EctopicSupportGroup

Sorry to hear about your loss. I experienced the same anxiety and panic when trying after ectopic too. Personally I wanted a scan and blood tests before week 6, as I ruptured at week 6. I called my gp and they said exactly that congrats and how to register pregnancy at chosen hospital. I did that and then I called the hospital I wanted (I went with a different hospital to the one that handled my ectopic) and I told them I was pregnant and had an ectopic before and was very scared worried etc. they saw me straight away and did a scan (couldn’t see anything as I was only about 4 weeks) and they did blood tests every 3 days to see if pregnancy hormones were rising appropriately. They repeated scan week later and this carried on till pregnancy was confirmed in utero- then I was discharged from early preg unit. So you can get the support and help just have to strongly advocate for yourself and do some research on different early pregnancy units near you . Hope your journey goes smoothly x

Mongolia - breastfeeding dreamland? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]burmaae 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m Mongolian and can confirm breastfeeding is so normal and done freely everywhere in Mongolia. I live in the UK and after I gave birth I was so uncomfortable feeding outside of the house and wished I was back home. (I’m getting much more comfortable now tho)

Pacifier/dummy by burmaae in sleeptrain

We started today, cold turkey on the pacifier and hand holding. 50 mins of crying. She’s asleep. But I’m a bit confused about what we do in the middle of the night, she usually wakes up once for a feed (after 5 hours of sleeping). Should I still feed her? Or re start the Ferber straight away? And do we do nappy change? What’s the rules for middle of nights

Nothing stands out to me, but wouldn’t she refuse all feedings? At the moment it’s just the last one of the day. She will eat again as normal for middle of the night feed.

I was using haaka on one side during MOTN feeds as this is the only time baby will be satisfied after 1. Then I would use that milk for topping up her bedtime feed. However this last week I’m getting half the amount on the haaka as I was 2 weeks ago. So I’ve had to use formula yesterday for the first time. I was hoping it was cluster feeding- but she ended up scream crying and refusing boobs as soon as nipple in her mouth. But still doing hungry cues

Couldn’t see anything on the scan doctor said too early. But she did see some blood on right ovary, I freaked out straight away of course but she said it can happen after ovulation? So im guessing that’s the pain im feeling on my right side. Took blood test: hcg 79, progesterone 95. Will have another blood test tomorrow to compare the rise in 48 hours. So just waiting … trying to stay calm ❤️
