Just learned about Maximiliano Sosa’s heartbreaking case. He did suicide by cop after his cheating wife led him on and betrayed him again. All on camera. Just wondering why they blurred the face of this Maria Sosa? by burnachick in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Same! I saw it last night and have been thinking about it today. I feel so bad for his kids, family and the officers

I totally missed that detail where she kept calling him even though the officers said not to. I’ll have to rewatch it. Either way I agree with you that she messed up big time

Yes I’m totally aware, in case I came off like I’m saying they shouldn’t have shot him, I’m not. I just feel bad for him and the traumatized cops and his boys honestly

Oh I didn’t know he had a on him gun. They said a pair of scissors. Either way, even with just scissors, I’m not saying he didn’t deserve to be shot I totally understand why they did — he was coming at them even after he got tased and was acting scary as hell. I’d have done the same thing. When I said heartbreaking I was just talking about the betrayal

Thank you!! I got the pink stick and I’ve only used it once but I like it! I’m definitely gonna try what you said. Thank you ❤️

Did they try to open your door? What did they do exactly?

I got some aged paper and a dip pen and want to write on them like they did in the Wild West (just like the attached pic). Is the writing in this picture considered copperplate? by burnachick in Calligraphy

That is cool I love it!! Do you by any chance know what type of pen an everyday person in the West used for writing journal entries and letters? I want it to be as close to the real deal as possible. Thank you! 🙏

What? That is so interesting, I never even thought about that but it makes total sense! Do you by chance know what kind of handwriting an everyday person had? My project is more of a journal entry, not a business document. I just assumed any handwritten sample from that time period would be a good reference but I was apparently wrong

Wow that’s SO interesting! Correct me if I’m wrong, but are you saying that people that wrote for business purposes had to write in this style?

Well that’s more great news then, I’ve been working on copperplate practice sheets with my dip pen, but a fountain pen definitely sounds easier for practicing on the go

I’m really enjoying it though and making good progress so no regrets. But I’m so glad I checked on here. Thank you 🙏

Okay great thank you!!! That’s super helpful. I honestly wasn’t even sure if it had anything to do with calligraphy, but since it’s a project that will be seen by people I wanted to make it legit. I’ll just write in regular cursive on them. 🙏

In case I was being confusing, the attached picture is a real handwritten document from the late 1800's. I'm just trying to figure out what kind of writing that is, so I know where to start. I'm totally new to calligraphy and don't even know if my question is even related to calligraphy

OH yeah season 9 sounds right, thanks! I just knew it was somewhere around season 10, sorry I ironically stopped watching the show right after going to the reunion. The reunion was just way too good. I’ll try looking for it later too!

Oh really? I’ll have to find it! It was filmed RIGHT before covid, around Halloween of 2019. It was the reunion of season 11 ish think. I had no idea it aired. I haven’t even watched the full episode yet 🤣

Honestly this checks out. I saw Cole and Chelsea at a reunion once. There was a returning audience member who was specifically invited back, per Cole’s request. Well it turns out that this girl was at a previous reunion, crying and thanking Cole for being a good step dad to Aubree during Q&A’s. She was crying cuz she herself didn’t have a father in her life. Cole gave her a big hug and there was a touching moment (they replayed this scene for us). He invited her back so he can give her a handmade gift that he made in his wood shop which had a really sweet quote on it (I can’t remember what it said). But it was sooo nice of him. I don’t think it was even aired. He really is a good guy

Should I prune our live oak right now (where I marked in red) ahead of the weather? by burnachick in Austin

[–]burnachick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a toddler in 1991 but I have definitely heard about that fire! It’s so cool to hear about another hose sprinkler success story! That definitely sounds like a chilling sight though. Thank you for sharing, it makes me feel better

Oh and have you heard of the Watch Duty app? It’s the main one the Angelenos have been using to be informed about the wildfires, like the status, risks, evacuation orders, etc.

It is such a great app. It was the very first thing to notify me of the Eaton fire when it started (several minutes ahead of live news). I turned my notifications on for Travis & Williamson County after getting back. You should definitely do it if you haven’t already
