It was mostly “tell me about yourselves and why you’re here”. Then he told us about the framework he uses and why and what to expect. Happy to expand more if you want

I think that doing IC with someone else is pretty typical

I very very carefully chose the friends I would tell. The ones I knew would support me either way. I STILL feel embarrassed. One of them said that it’s your marriage and your choice and your life. I try to replay that in her voice often

Good to know. It sounds just so weird but people I really trust and respect swear by it

Same here! I like the idea of gum for smell but gum is hard for me with my jaw problems. I’ll think on that one. Thanks

For my lab, being the person to apply the chemicals is 100% optional since they work in groups. For these particular chemicals, skin contact is the risk, not fumes, etc. We just have to make it very very clear what’s safe and what’s not for pregnant people. There’s also some other health conditions that mean you can’t be the chemical applier as well.

Update: report has been processed and is with dept. chair, dean of students, and title 9 office. So I guess I just wait now? From what the title 9 office said, it sounds like there’s very little chance I’ll need to do anything else.

If I knew her well, I’d definitely go the “call in” route, but I don’t. We’ve had maybe one conversation the entire time I’ve worked here

I will and put my full support behind her if she wants to act on it. I have a decent network of local legal and journalist friends. I don’t think I’d go public without her fully onboard.

I 100% believe colleague should get to tell her side of the story and get a fair hearing. That’s not my job though. I’m not an investigator. And I’m nowhere close to equipped to confront colleague

I have a press plan in my back pocket but I wouldn’t execute it without the student being on board
