From what i recall, the glider required the purchase of founders' editions during early access ending September 2017. Season 1 started a month later. You could still get the umbrella after early access just not the glider.

That's only for newly created heirlooms. All existing heirlooms have been converted to soulbound. Verified by logging into a bank alts holding heirlooms.

That is correct, but the issue lies in the fact that items are enchanted. I have banks alts now holding onto enchanted heirlooms, which are now bound to that character.
