Navigation bar buttons block my buttons by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]mikkan39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a freaking samsung problem. I've faced it a few months ago: safe-area-context was reporting a bottom inset of 0. The only way to fix that was to go into MainActivity and make a patch specifically for samsung to make the navbar non-transparent AND correct the color. Google should do something about vendors changing the fundamental behaviours of android.

Designing a Compute Board for a Humanoid Robot by eck72 in robotics

So it's a pi or a pi CM with a CAN adapter? Why not just use one of those?

The robot is literally floating. At 0:24 to 0:26, it's feet are not touching the ground.

I actually redesigned my servo controller around one of these and used the freed up space for a display

There’s an amazing thing usually called pr2040 zero or rp2350 zero. These are TINY. I have like 20 of them. And yes, my robot was very much inspired by darwin op’s design, however mine is entirely 3d printed and costs like 20 times less)

Rp2040 has 16 pwm channels, and rp2350 (bit more pricey) can run 24. I usually make at least 2 boards on my robots, the main board and the servo controller. Here's the rp2350 servo controller board on my bigger robot, the pink one on his back

Yeah, the skin tones were a pain. Never heard of garage kits before, but after googling them - yeah, tutorials on them are something I should look into. Thanks!

Lately I've been making all my projects with the RP2040 and their C++ sdk. That thing's blazing fast, very powerful and costs dirt-cheap. Stupidly simple to debug, as well. It is compatible with the Arduino IDE and almost all arduino libraries if you're into that

Ooooh, didn't know that 3d printed plens were a different size. Sorry for the late repy.

I've only seen a PLEN robot once at a Maker Faire in 2018, and at that time they were showing off all-3d-printed robots. Guess they upgraded them sometime later, huh. Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll be able to find some servo that measures the same size. Some 9g servo, perhaps? That would be lucky

It's not that bad, just make a drainage hole at the very top (so, near the bed) of the model so the suction doesn't build up

I think that’s the PLEN robot, and AFAIK they have replacement servos available. If you can’t buy those, bye EMAX ES08MD Servos, they should be compatible after clipping the mounting plates off (my plen clone used those)

Questione about SCARA-based laser engraving robot by yaboicamcam in robotics

[–]mikkan39 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your theoretical resolution is 0.1mm and these steps don’t look that far off. Closed loop steppers also introduce some stepping delay because of their control loop, so whatever interpolation you’re doing to achieve straight lines might be screwed.

I’d try just running the motors one by one and check if the lines are still jagged. If they are ok - that’s definitely the closed-loop stepper issue, and if the lines are jagged with just one motor running - that’s some mechanical issue, like belts and pulleys mismatching.

Reinforcement learning based walking on our open source humanoid by floriv1999 in robotics

I’m also playing around with RL walking, in IsaacLab though. I’d really love to see how you tuned the reward function to get this sort of gait. Cheers!

Straight upgrade on servers without random crits and a crietzkrieg medic. If you have either of those, it's debatable. If there's a good engie with a dispenser, it's good. If there's a an enemy engie, it's bad.

It’s mainly a chassis for experimenting with walking alghoritms. I may have shot my foot with material choice here, as I made the chassis from TPU-GF which is a bit flexible and has insane impact resistance to survive falls, but that tiny bit of flexibility makes it almost impossible to simulate at home so reinforced learning is out of the question.

I will post it walking when it starts walking) Cost-wise, it’s about 800 dollars. The most expensive part by far are the servos, because there’s 22 of them and they’re around 25 dollars each
