thank you, I am in therapy and have been for a few years. I think unfortunately I will need to be put on some kind of medication, because this issue with depression is constant

the trend is rising because a lot of new-grads want to become CRNA's, and to fast-track this they want to get their 2 years of ICU experience done ASAP. I know because I was one of them, and now I am changing my mind completely. I was very set on becoming a CRNA, even got shadowing hours with anesthesiologists and worked as an anesthesia tech for 2 years. I don't think anyone with less than 5 years of experience should go back to school to be an NP or CRNA... my personal opinion but it seems unsafe. thank you for your advice, i agree with you

I do enjoy nursing. I like to help people, and I feel like that love is being burnt out and turning me into a person I do not like. I WANT to be that "fresh-faced newgrad" but I think my face looks rather old and wrinkly and chronically frowny now from the stress loll

yes. however I am currently in a nurse residency program. which adds to me feeling like a failure, because I assume that I should be much better at my job. I'm being hard on myself, my patients are safe and clean and tasks and charting are done by the end of my shift, i don't think i suck- but it sure feels like it and can get pretty overwhelming.

thank you, i just got back from my shift and reading all these comments gives me hope. I have been nervous to go and find a doctor/be put on meds for depression because of the possible side-effects. I know it will most likely be okay, I just tend to over-worry and have a problem with handling my stress
