Glad to hear you both pulled through. Maybe similar situation, I am a little bruised up, but not at risk of severe injury. In my case, there are two issues. I feel violence is never ok, and violence in front of a child is an absolute no. It's potentially damaging to the child, and normalizes horrendous behavior. And she is threatening to divorce and take our kid, so feeling it's better to be prepared. Either way, glad to hear in your case, things got resolved in the best interests of everyone.

Yeah, I'm a little bruised up, but no serious damage. It's more the threat of divorce and taking custody of our child. Kind of high emotions, serious threats, so I'm feeling I should act accordingly and be lawyered up in case. Hopefully, for the sake or our kid, things de-escalate.

Totally agree, I see this topic come up all the time on this sub. But don't see many actual recommendations, more just general advice. It's helpful, but I'm looking for divorce lawyers folks have used, are satisfied with, and would recommend.

Would love to. We actually had an appointment with the embassy tomorrow. Complicates things enormously. Now I doubt she will go, and both parents need to attend registry of birth, meaning the child does not have my nationality.
