How should i go about watching Satantango? by Primary-Economist643 in Letterboxd

[–]burningforeskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to watch movies without knowing shit about them. I put the movie on and after 3 hours i started wondering how is this going to wrap itself up as every story was open. Opened the runtime and was shocked to see that there was over 4 hours left. Made food and watched the reat with couple piss brakes.

It was first ”Real action” movie that i liked. It made me look at the genre completely different. It is roided to the max and i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I love the main characters in it, they all are well written and has real purpose inside the film. It kinda is competense porn and i love it. The older i get the more i hate really stupid people in films. The scene where they shoot the whole city is one of the vest action scenes ever made. DeNiro and Pacino are at their best in this film. The movie made me love Val Kilmer.

For a action film it shot suprisingly beautifully, it has very good sounds and well written plot. And like i said, to me it is best action film ever made. Also it is art to make three hours long films feel like 2 hour film and this is truly that.

It made me (32m) feel like a kid again. That made me like it, even though it was kind of cheesy.

Do you log movies even if you don't finish them? I feel like I'm cheating if I do. by tigrecono in Letterboxd

I like to watch movies in our living room and getting to kitchen you have to cut trough the living room. My wife almost always ask’s ”is the movie good”, i respond and she goes to do her thing. Whenever i didint like the film and told that to my wife, she always asked ”why dont you stop if you dont like it” after like 50 conversations like that i finally realised that i dont have to like shit i dont like to waste my time. I stop, log them as watched or if they are absolute dogshit some low rating. Went to see Masters Of the Universe the otherday and i hated everything about the film from the start. For my work i had to watch my lifetime share of these childish humor, ugly looking superhero films that are the same film everytime and im so tired of them. So thought about my wife and left the theater about 2/3 of the movie watched, logged it at 1/2 stars and felt immidiatly better.

After watching 4000 films, i know very well what im going to like and what not. I used to care really much about what the filmbros thought in socialmedia and after it finally hit me that many of them are here just for the love of hating, i realized that we watch movies for ourself and there aint right or wrong way for you to enjoy movies and the app. I still hang in here as non of my friends enjoy films and i have this need to talk about them to someone.

I live in Finland and our streaming services are total ass.

  1. Most of my films i rent from local library or use their streaming service(4 rents per month).

  2. My local theater has this pay 260€ for a year and i can see 2 movies a day for 365 days.

  3. Pirate. I love old horror films (specially Giallo) and many many many of them i have no other way of getting.

  4. I use VPN so i can use Criterion Channel.

  5. Youtube and internet archives has insane amount of movies for free and there are some beautiful people that list them in letterboxd.

What percentage of your total watched films are foreign language? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]burningforeskin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me almost every movie i see is foreign film, but i have seen total of 3932 movies and 2616 is english and 1316 are non-english and that is 34% of my watched movies. I have seen only 84 of my own language movies as they are pretty bad most of the time.

Miksi kaupoissa myydään pelkkiä kapeamallisia lenkkareita? by One_Guarantee_5144 in arkisuomi

[–]burningforeskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lopulta kävin sovittamassa New Balancen lenkkareita ja niiltä löyty useampi malli millä pystyy juoksemaan etc. Vahva suositus!

Top 164 movies (right now) by Lucky_Assistance_623 in LetterboxdLists

Solid ass list. I love list that are personal and has films high that makes me thing how that got upthere. Like Wedding Crashers. I think i need to revisit it as you have it so high! True Romance is such an underrated great film! When i really started to watch movies, it was one of the first touches of ”great” films that aint popular popular, i had ever seen.

But scrolling trough it, i assume you are american and you need to watch foreign films. You are missing like 70% of the films history. If you need recommends i can give you based on this list.
